Drama viewership ratings for the week of Sep. 7-13, 2020

After some of our shows wrapped up, the weekly schedule really thinned out. Perhaps it’s feeling empty because music drama Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol was supposed to premiere a while back (and had to be pushed due to COVID-19 precautions). Instead, we got romance drama Record of Youth first. And the drama is already performing incredibly well, garnering close to 7 percent. The power of the underdog story? Or the power of the two leads Park Bo-gum and Park So-dam?

Most shows have fallen into their own niches, Do You Like Brahms and When I Was the Most Beautiful staying around 5 percent and 4 percent respectively. I did notice, however, that time-travel drama Alice went down a bit, from 8.7 and 10.6 percent last week to 8.1 and 9.9 percent this week. Then, there was Forest of Secrets, still bringing in high numbers. The drama initially premiered to 7 percent, went down and cruised around 6 percent, and now it’s climbing right back up.

So true. I just realized the other day that this is why I'm not impatient to watch Record of Youth. I think I'm often very susceptible to casting steering my drama consumption!

Yes I love it too! The leads are killing it with their performances and the young daughter too :)

Go Na-hee, who plays the young daughter, was also in a drama special called Hello Dracula and she was amazing in that.

The young girl is one of the very few child actors that I can stand to watch. 90% of the kids in k-drama are nothing but props to show some kid crying (in extreme closeups) yelling OMMA OMMA OMMA.

Yeon Junghoon as a doting daddy is beyond cute. Makjang is not usually my cup of tea, but this one is well written, actings are solid. Someone was always cutting onions when I watching this.

Salute to Once Again as once again took an overall leader for the last time.

Next week, KBS took another new epic family dramedy similar to Once Again, Oh! Samgwang Villa/Homemade Love Story. I looked forward to see if it will be doing well in rating just like Once Again.

Glad to see a jump for Flower of Evil even though these episodes weren't my favorites. Also, happy for Lies of Lies breaking Channel A ratings record and Alice continuing to do pretty well for a sci-fi drama. Not entirely happy with Missing's storylines but it's good to see OCN's ratings up this cycle.

Rating of "Missing - The Other Side" was up slightly. I have been enjoying this drama. It's at halfway point (only 12 episodes) and it is going to show us how everything person and case are somehow connected.
p.s. 3 more weeks and "Search" will start. Can't wait.

I am enjoying MISSING also and looking forward to Jang Dong-yoon's upcoming SEARCH on OCN.
I am still baffled why Yoon Shi-yoon's TRAIN on OCN did so poorly in the ratings.

The list is incomplete, please add Channel A's Lies of lies, too. You shouldn't ignore these dramas, sometimes they perform very well and the main channels don't offer so many dramas aymore. There will be an MBN drama soon, too!

I'm really enjoying Missing: The Other Side. Go soo is a great actor, this is my first drama from him as I've only ever seen him from one movie or another. I love his interactions with Thomas too :D It's a pity it's not being recapped here. Can we get a weecap at least? 🙏

Comparing to the OCN drama they replaced - "Train", Missing is doing better on ratings. However, up to this point (ep. 8) I do like the flow of the story of "Train" better.
