Drama viewership ratings for the week of Nov. 23-29, 2020
by SailorJumun
Another week, another set of dramas to send off. In the case of Do Do Sol Sol, I’m no longer sad to see it off. (Just sad we had to go through that ending.) Along with Do Do Sol Sol, Private Lives and More Than Friends had an average run and finished out the same way. Next week, Nine Tailed and Start-Up will be wrapping up too, most likely with better results.
With the winter season coming, we got a glimpse of the next season of dramas. Fantasy thriller The Uncanny Counter premiered on OCN, and honestly, it performed better than I expected, considering the quirky concept. The other recently premiered drama Live On, however, went down to 0.4 percent. Because of the young cast? Because of its airing schedule? *shrugs* Who knows.

Live on is not really good for now and I don't understand why they air only one episode by week. It's not like a lot of postproduction was needed for this kind of drama. It will be hard for the next drama Senior, Don't Put on That Lipstick.
I'm disapointed by JTBC dramas since the break. I dropped More Than Friends, Privates Lives and Live On is in the hot seat.
I think there is a mistake for The Uncanny Counter... It's more like 2.7 percent and a peak of 3.5 percent. It's a OCN drama not KBS...

Penthouse finally got moved into next highest rating ever recorded! Absolutely, after Penthouse: War in Life officially renewed for second and third seasons this week, it still flooded with good news despite of Shin Sung-rok turned down (hopefully, SSR will be on either both of them) with best ratings from this popular Korean screenwriter (Last Empress). Congrats again to Penthouse crew and staff and I wish them to try more achievements to come even the more gains in ratings!
As for Private Lives, it got a disappointing lowest rating ever for this fraud show (episode 15). So sad from the Private Lives crew... but better luck next time into the post-Private Lives cycle.

Fyi Penthouse was planned for 40episodes with 2 seasons, 20 eps/season before it even aired. But now they split the 2nd season to two making it season 2 and season 3 with about 12 eps/season. If all seasons are combined....Penthouse is a weekender but in a primetime slot 😆.

I've been waiting for Private Lives to come to Netflix in my region (Dec 3). I know ratings have been low and reactions pretty meh to mixed, but I've been seeing clips and stills and I'm somehow still charmed by the idea. Think I'll give it a go on the weekend.

I watched Private Lives on Netflix. I don't understand the low ratings. I thought it was really fun and suspenseful and charming. I liked it a lot more than dodolalasisido, even before the dreadful ending.

I think the OTP in Private Lives is more my style than the OTP in DoDo...but I'm also not a huge fan of Go A-ra, so that may be part of it. Thanks for the thumbs up on PL - it's nice to hear positive reactions (especially since I'm for sure going to watch).

I might be the only one but I actually really liked Uncanny Encounter! It was fun and entertaining - very Anime like. It reminded me of some stuff I used to like as a manga/anime obsessed middle schooler/high schooler
