Drama viewership ratings for the week of Jan. 4-10, 2021

And with that, the craziness that is Penthouse has come to an end. The drama aired its finale on Tuesday, and it was so close to hitting that rare 30 percent. But hey, 28.8 percent is an amazing achievement. Not only that, but there’s already a season 2 in the works — the quickest drama sequel I’ve seen maybe ever.
As usual, most of the Big Three shows are struggling, with the exception of Secret Royal Inspector. The sageuk’s numbers are staying strong around 5-6 percent, without any significant change. But it’s the cable shows that are pulling everyone in, whether it’s the Wednesday-Thursday rom-coms or the weekend fantasy dramas.

Fyi, Penthouse was always planned for more than 1 season before it aired. That's why the 2nd season can be released so soon. Initially it was 2 seasons (S1 & S2) with 20 episodes each, but it was later announced that the remaining eps will be split to S2 and S3 with 12 or 10 eps each.

Penthouse was addicting as crack. I was more into it than the other four dramas I was watching. Glad Season 2 starts in three weeks because I miss it in my life.

What happened on Thursday, Jan. 7? Why did True Beauty fall 1% and Run On rise 1%? Not that the shows air at the same times, but True Beauty has never fell below 3% since its premiere, and Ep. 8 was The Kiss.

Maybe the two-week hiatus made it difficult for viewers to get back into TRUE BEAUTY? I almost lost interest while I waited, and Ep. 7 was kind of boring in my opinion.

I think it's Joseon Exorcist but in March, so I'm not sure about what they will air between.
After Live On, JTBC will air She Would Never Know (Sunbae, Don't Put on That Lipstick) on the Monday-Tuesday.
