Oh! Master releases new promos of Lee Min-ki and Nana

Lee Min-ki (The Lies Within) and Nana (Memorials) are starring in a new rom-com drama called Oh! Master. It’s a love story about a man who won’t date and a woman who apparently can’t. When the two meet, cohabitation hijinks ensue.

Well from the lovey-dovey eye-making in the poster, it doesn’t look like they “won’t” or “can’t” date for long. For the drama, Lee Min-ki plays a top drama scriptwriter whose speciality is thrillers. While he loves thrillers, he’s less interested in love and romance. Nana plays Korea’s top actress who is known as the Queen of Rom-coms onscreen, but is a “motae solo” (a.k.a. forever-alone-since-birth) in real life.

Lee Min-ki and Nana make such a beautiful couple, and I’m looking forward to Nana’s attempts at awkward flirting (she was so cute and fun in Memorials). Not going to lie, I’m totally getting Reach of SincerityBecause This Life Is Our First vibes from the synopsis, but I don’t care. I love my fluffy rom-coms, so bring it on!

Written by Jo Jin-gook (Fated to Love You) and directed by Oh Da-young (Lookout), Wednesday-Thursday MBC drama Oh! Master will begin on March 24.

I can already see Nana's character putting everything she learned from her acting projects to use to impress Lee Min-ki's oblivious to love character! ^^

It will be terrible. Nothing compares to BTIOFL, and this one will have its own glow or be a disastrous slog. Anyways, two people should not be allowed to be that good looking. It's not okay.

Maybe this one will have a better ending than BTIOFL though!! I was very disappointed with the direction of the last couple of episodes and their communication issues.

Agree. This is exactly what I wanted to say. BTLIOF was great except for the finale and it showed what is to hurt your leads and the audience with such a finale. So, here... we'll find out. Memorials was great, but the focus was not the romance. Yet, Nana was awesome! I really loved her there.
Lee Min ki is hot...

Reading this plot description reminds me of lunch -- I eat a turkey and cheese sandwich every and every week, even multiple times each week. But it must be said that my enjoyment of the sandwich varies depending on whether the turkey is smoked, roasted or low-sodium and whether the cheese is swiss, gouda, cheddar, etc.

Unfortunately, I am beginning to see Lee Min Ki as always being plain roast turkey in every drama he does...

Out of curiosity... Which dramas have you seen?

BTIOFL (loved, loved, loved it); The Beauty Inside (a disappointment) and The Lies Within (did not regret expending the time on it but did not resonate with me)

To me, LMK's performances were not comparable in an academic analysis kind of way but all three offered characters with a shared off-key weirdness, exemplified by a lack of filter, a disregard for the polite niceties and of course, his trademark staccato speaking style.

The best things don’t need fancy embellishments. Instead, they shine on their very own merits. And now I feel gross for comparing LMK to lunchmeat. I’m sorry universe.

Also,is it a coincidence that my lunch today was literally a slice of roasted turkey on a bread?

So true. LMK requires no embellishment.

Well, I for one love LMK. There is a dark, broody vibe about him. I bet he growls in his sleep and snarls at his roasted turkey sandwich.

I have adopted a new "ignore any and all promo materials" policy for dramas because I want to take the dramas for what they are when I watch the premiere instead of what I am expecting them to be... so I am refusing to look at anything in the above post but I just wanna say that this new policy of mine is not working because I am still ridiculously excited and this is bad. Very bad. DO NOT BE EXCITED, MINDY. DO NOT EXPECTED ANYTHING.

Okay I actually saw the poster the other day and scrolled past some screencaps of the teaser in twitter and oh god they look so good together everything is so pretty and cute and his HAIR in the stills so so funny and cute--

NO. NO EXCITEMENT NO EXPECTATIONS. NOT ALLOWED.

I love Fated to Love You. And Lookout had great cinematography. If their chemistry is half of Jang Hyuk and Jang Nara, and if the posters harken to the warmth of the framing that we’ll see, this will be amazing.

I wanna see this! 😊 Their respective dramas (Memorials and Because This Life is Our First) brought me warmth and comfort last year, so I'm excited to see them again—this time, together =))

The premise may seem too familiar, but I don't mind. I want a romcom with these two. And the poster's lovely~

@quirkycase “ Not going to lie, I’m totally getting Reach of Sincerity—Because This Life Is Our First vibes from the synopsis” OMG yea, exact same thing crossed my mind the moment I read about the drama! Thing is I get why I got because this is my first life vibe (Lee min Ki, cohabitation) but I am not sure why I thought of reach of sincerity (except for that nana will play an actress perhaps?)!

But I don’t care either, I will take my lee min Ki in any rom com I can get. Also the only time I saw anything of nana was back in the day when she was part of the variety show the “roommate” cast (oh wait! I think I know why I thought of reach of sincerity! Maybe coz nana plays an actress like yoo inna did in “reach” which is a lee dong wook drama as well and lee dong wook was also a part of the roommate where nana was a part!! Ok imma gonna stop now - pretty sure I sound super crazy )

Finally, a cute fluffy rom-com!!! I loved LMK in BTIMFL but I've never seen anything Nana, and of course the plot gives off a serious Reach of Sincerity vibe, and I'm willing to jump right in to this!

Not a big fan of that title

If it helps, it's a literal translation and a play on words. The title is literally just Nana's character name, Oh Jooin, with the respectful -nim added. "Jooinnim" translates to something like "master". It's not a great title lol but I think it's a reference to her status as a romcom "queen".

...okay I'm really leaving this thread now BYE

Yeah, those pun-literal titles don't always work quite so well in English. They still have time to come up with something slightly different 😂😂

I will definitely watch this one.

The writer also wrote the script for FATED TO LOVE YOU- which was a Korean re-make of a classic T-drama. Many of us think that the Korean version is actually better, even with the wonderful Joe Chen as the 'sticky note girl' the original version. Of course, it helped that the Korean version had the wonderful Jang Na-ra and Jang Hyuk in the lead roles but in fact this writer took of lot of the rough edges off of the original, so that is encouraging.

Nana did a fabulous job in INTO THE RING. She has obviously learned a lot when it comes to acting.

We know that Lee Min-ki can deliver in this role because he actually played a very similar character in BTIOFL- which is a great drama.
