Premiere Watch: Mouse

Time slot: Wednesday & Thursday
Broadcaster: tvN
Genre: Thriller, mystery, action
Episode count: 20

Are you ready for a new Lee Seung-gi drama? Yeah, that’s kind of a trick question. Either way, tvN’s latest thriller is here in the shape of Mouse. Lee Seung-gi plays our honest rookie policeman who goes up against the psychopath serial killer that’s terrorizing the nation. Serial killer dramas are usually tough for me to enjoy, but that’s not to say that I don’t love the construct here: good-hearted idealism coming face-to-face with true evil. Lee Hee-joon also stars (woot!), and the PD was last responsible for the intense and emotional Come Here and Hug Me. In short, Mouse has a lot going for it, and without at doubt, promises to be intense.

Count me in!
I just hope I can deal with the level of anguish I anticipate. Uh.

The recent spate of premiers all fell pretty flat with me unfortunately. But somehow, despite not loving thrillers very much, this one feels enticing. Could this be a new release that grabs me for good? I hope so - I need a drama to be excited over again!

Against all better judgement, I will be starting this.
Because apparently I'm LSG trash and need my fix.
For how long I will watch it, however, is a completely different story...

Can we take a moment to admire how unnecessarily handsome Lee Seung-gi looks in that poster? I mean, in what world are policemen _that_ good looking. *facepalm

I'm excited but also side-eyeing the 20 episodes. Rarely does a kdrama need them

Too many thrillers. Too many episodes. But I know I'll give it a try for Lee Seung-gi, regardless.

Oh wow! I really liked Come Here and Hug me (with the single exception of wanting more to the story in the past, but I don't know who's responsible for that).

Aaagh I am a bit conflicted though--I'm not usually a huge Lee Seung Gi fan (read: still haven't watched a show where I like him) but I'm willing to give this a try since the premise is so good. We'll see!

I am conflicted with this one as to start watching it now or after the initial comments on it. I am not that much of a LSG fan and not to mention that I have dropped all his drams midway. Plus this one has 20 episodes. Seriously in a dilemma.

Update after watching the first episode: dang. That was intense. But good, I guess? I'm interested to see where they take it.
