Drama viewership ratings for the week of May 24-30, 2021

Our chart is starting to feel a little more balanced in genre — we’ve still got the dark thrillers going, but we’re also seeing more fantasy and romance. And it seems like Korean audiences are enjoying the change in variety, seeing My Roommate Is a Gumiho premiere to 5.3 percent. Guess the gumiho craze is still going strong!

Of course, the darker side of dramaland is going strong as well, as usual. Melodrama Youth of May, legal thriller Law School, and chaebol drama Mine garnered their highest ratings this week, with Mine inching closer to double digits. Then there was Taxi Driver, which finished off its 16-episode run just as positively as it started.

tvN's fantasies make my week. Doom's OTP is hotter (banmal can make or break a romance and maybe don't call your boyfriend "eoreusin"), but Gumiho's side characters are more fun (Bae In-hyuk is hot and Kang Han-na is sexy, whereas other than God, I'm not interested in Doom's second leads).

So I Married The Anti-Fan doesn't air on television, so no ratings.

Because it's a web drama.

I had not realized that it was web-only. (Their is a separate ratings system for the web but those would not be used by DB)

Why am I watching and even current with DARK HOLE?
Maybe out of loyalty to LJH (1984). Maybe because of the fast subbing on Viki (which I am sure is a result of there being so little dialogue) while patiently waiting for BOSSAM to be subbed.
At this point I am 2 episodes way from earning my fifth bean so I will finish it.
LJH you can repay my loyalty by signing up for FOS 3.

Fighting bong-soo!

The other Lee Joon Hyuk is doing great as the comedy relief and steadfast friend in BOSSAM. I think Chun-bae's true calling is as a storyteller.

Thought exactly the same thing as he mimed climbing a wall. Hmmmm, a sageuk about traveling storytellers would be intriguing, eh? No royals - just people of different regions and the stories that unite them.

@wishfultoki, LJH (1972) is having a ball in BOSSAM.
The bickering between Chun-bae and Court Lady Jo has been great comic relief.
You spurred me on to make only my second Fan Wall post. (I am still a Fan Wall newbie.) I found rare pics of both LJH 1972 and 1984 together. I believe they are from Nov. 2019:
