Drama viewership ratings for the week of July 12-18, 2021

The next drama season is still gearing up, meaning we have some shows starting to wrap up. My Roommate is a Gumiho had a strong start around 5 percent, floated around 3 percent for most of its run, and finished off with a strong 4 percent. Dramas At a Distance, Spring is Green and Racket Boys will be ending soon as well.
In the second half of the week, Hospital Playlist’s second season hit an all-time high of 12.4 percent. Penthouse continued going steady, while Voice and, particularly, The Devil Judge, saw higher numbers. In general, it’s our cable shows that are really thriving, with the exception of Nevertheless, whose numbers are still trickling down.

Love (ft. Marriage and Divorce) 2 is the highest-rated non-JTBC/tvN cable drama. TV Chosun has five more episodes to get into the top 10.

I'm usually happy for ratings successes, especially for non-JTBC/tvN cable channels but this drama ... There are rare moments of good writing but mostly the dialogue is really really embarrassing. I have mixed feelings lol.

It has a few really powerful confrontation scenes and a billion ??????? what??????? is this drama saying?????? scenes

I understand that it can’t be everyone’s cup of tea as it requires the right state of mind to watch it. I disagree with poor acting though: I think the actors are doing a great job.

I'm pretty certain it's because most people watch it online via Netflix or another site. The main audience is most likely young adults and they'll probably stream it on their own time. Also, this isn't the type of drama Koreans would watch with their families. It has tons of online buzz and you can see that by watching the behind the scenes videos, they garner about 500k-2M views on average for most videos. I think it's actually pretty popular regardless of the real-time ratings.

I wonder why Voice 4 is shown under OCN while in all other places, including the end credit of the show itself says tVN?

Probably a mistake. All the other Voices were on OCN. It probably airs on both though since both channels are owned by CJ. Not sure which channel's ratings these reflect though.

I flagged (and even tagged the poster, Sailorjumun) in one of the earlier posts about this as well. My post was ignored. Maybe because OCN and TVN belong to the same group of companies and it didn't matter?

I am generally a fan of OCN dramas but I am not watching VOICE 4 however out of loyalty to Lee Joon-hyuk (1984) I recently suffered through DARK HOLE which was listed and aired on both OCN and tvN. That is the first drama I noticed airing on both networks. It really didn’t help with the ratings. They were abysmal.
