Drama viewership ratings for the week of June 28-July 4, 2021

Going into July, we’ve got some shifting in the ratings chart. Doom at Your Service came to a quiet end with 2.3 percent. The drama had a strong premiere but ratings gradually dwindled down, staying around 2 percent for most of its run. Interestingly, Penthouse‘s ratings have been dwindling down as well — though, it’s still safe in the number one spot.

Over the weekend, we had the premiere of dystopian legal drama The Devil Judge. The drama gave us the return of Ji Sung and the reunion of Ji Sung and Kim Min-jung (who both starred in 2007 medical drama New Heart). With a premiere rating of 5.5 percent, I’d say it’s off to a good start. Meanwhile, numbers for Hospital Playlist and Voice continued to rise.

3 main leads plus Cha-dol promised to dance or something if the ratings hit 10%.
I don't care about that so much (I'd like to see it though) I really hope the final will go beyond 10% because this show deserves it.
If it was on 3 major networks or even tvN/JTBC, it would have been hit double digits much earlier like Ep. 8-10.

The final episode was 9.8%...
But still great number for a MBN drama.

Penthouse is one of those shows that is fun to watch for a while just because of all the max makjang, it is starting to get tedious to the point where I just want everyone to die. The few that are still alive, that is.

Devil Judge seems ok. First 5 minutes of ep 1 makes me think of Gotham Korean ver.? 🤣 I'm going to finish ep. 1 later.

Monthly Magazine Home is a very nice drama but rating always low. Maybe because JTBC is a cable channel while other networks are free to air tv precisely the reason why those dramas in free to air tv got higher ratings.

I guess koreans are no longer into romantic comedies, or anything that has to do with fantasy romance. Judging by the ratings from these genres. It is not just about cable or public broadcasting channel these days.

bad to mediocre romance hurt the genre for sure. None of these dramas is a must see.
