Ominous teaser for The Road: Tragedy of One revealed

On a night of torrential rain, a cruel, tragic incident starts a cycle of secrets and deception in The Road: Tragedy of One. The recently released teaser for the drama stars Ji Jin-hee (Undercover, Move to Heaven), Yoon Se-ah (Forest of Secrets 2), and Kim Hye-eun (Graceful Friends).

Through a door just barely cracked open, we get a peek at the lives of the residents of Royal The Hill, a luxury estate where only the top 1% of Korea can reside. Our first glance is at Ji Jin-hee playing Baek Soo-hyun, the most trusted news anchor and reporter in Korea. He stares at his phone anxiously, as though waiting for an important call.

Similarly, Yoon Se-ah, playing Baek Soo-hyun’s wife, Seo Eun-soo, also looks apprehensive about something impending. On the other hand, Kim Hye-eun playing a fellow Royal The Hill resident, looks at the camera challengingly, almost as if she’s daring the future to come.

Her character is a haughty nighttime news announcer that has it all: looks, wealth, and a home life. Copy appears onscreen: “When a moment swallows the truth…” We see that all three characters are actually gathered together in the same room, and then the copy continues, “…a tragedy begins.” All three characters look up toward the ceiling. At this moment, Baek Soo-hyun’s phone rings, caller ID unknown.

tvN’s Wednesday-Thursday mystery drama The Road: Tragedy of One, written by Yoon Hee-jung and directed by Kim Noh-won, will air starting August 4.

Unfortunately these sorts of teasers usually have nothing to do with the series. Not the costumes, not the sets, not the locations.

It's just nice to see some grown people in a teaser, you know.

Again a TV show with very rich people who will deserve whatever will happen to them.

Although you could replace "rich" with "pretty", "thin" or "secretive" and the sentiment would equally apply. Unfortunately, shows about poor, ugly, fat people who are open books do not hold much commercial appeal.

He's having an affair with the woman, they are driving along a dark and isolated road, a young man appears out of nowhere and the car knocks him down. They split up, the man left with the young man, who is not breathing, whom he dumps in the boot. He decides to get rid of the young man by throwing him into the lake nearby, but at the last minute, the young man stirs to life, he throws him into the lake anyway, so that nobody would know they're having an affair. The mistress walks to a neighbouring house and asks for help, and the couple there tell her they're waiting for their son who hasn't come home. The mother calls the son's phone, and the phone buzzes in the mistress's handbag...she took the young man's phone with her, and yes, he's the missing son...this is a movie I watched, a Spanish thriller full of twists and turns...if only I could remember the title...
