Lee Jun-ki to be reincarnated in SBS’s Again My Life

My forever oppar Lee Jun-ki (Flower of Evil) is making his comeback in Again My Life as a reincarnated prosecutor. It’s a drama adaptation of a web novel by the same name, about a man who is given a second chance at life after dying an unfair, premature death.

Lee Jun-ki plays Kim Hee-woo, the main character, who is multi-skilled, coldly logical, tenacious, and decisive. When he begins investigating powerful corrupt figures in society, he finds that there is financial, political rot tied in with a shady cartel.

He returns to life solely with the purpose of taking out the criminal mastermind Jo Tae-sub, played by Lee Kyung-young (A Couple’s World, Hyena). Jo Tae-sub is a powerful kingmaker who appears to be a righteous man. But in the shadows, he puts his people in power through dirty tricks and unsavory methods.

Kim Ji-eun (The Veil) plays Kim Hee-ah, the manager of an economics research team within the Cheonha conglomerate. She’s also the youngest daughter of the Cheonha chaebol family, and she’s a risk-taker with an elite education. She joins forces with Kim Hee-woo in order to protect her family from the storm that’s about to rain down on corrupt chaebols.

Co-written by Jay and Kim Yul and directed by Han Chul-soo (Graceful Family), Again My Life will begin airing on SBS in 2022.

Lee Junki is a top 3 favorite for me, but I’ll have a hard time rooting against Lee Kyungyoung and his smiling eyes. He always gives the bad guys he plays layers and nuance. I don’t care that he’s basically the same antagonist in nearly everything—he’s great at it.

It's probably why his real-life antagonistic behavior was forgiven and he's back on our screens.

"Lee Kyung Young was found guilty of underage prostitution in 2002. He manipulated and exploited underage aspiring actresses into having sex in exchange for roles in acting projects. He was sentenced to 10 months in prison for his actions. He was also banned from all Korean broadcast channels until MBC dropped its ban in 2014."

Gross. He's like the Weinstein of Korea. Even worst that his victims were teenagers.

I can't believe he is still respected in the industry and has been getting great projects for almost a decade. It doesn't seem that the ban had much of a lasting impact on his career...

O.O
Holy cow I had no idea!

I knew this a year ago and it really bothered me. Actors with much lesser offense were no longer given projects. I thought people like this in Korea will be ban forever. I guess he is the exception…anyway, he is a sexual offender, a pedophile! Gross! Any society should not have him!

I think it was one 17 year old woman that he had sex with 3 times/the first time it happened he didn't know her age, but he did know for the 2 subsequent times. This is unacceptable of course. But it was 20 years ago, and I think people can change. Adult males make mistakes and can learn from being brought to justice, and by being shamed.

I've recently gotten back into manga/webtoons and noticed that the died-terribly-and-comes-back and transmigration themes are popular in the korean and chinese ones.

Yes they are. It's always reincarnation and revenge too. I believe the Chinese gov stepped in and banned reincarnation stories because it was getting overboard.

This will be great. Straight up good guy vs bad guy and I love both of the male leads. Hopefully with AGAIN MY LIFE being an SBS production it will be available on Kocowa and Viki. I hope LJG will be able to display his physicality and martial arts expertise (particularly Brazilian jiu jitsu) like he was able to in LAWLESS LAWYER (5 stars.).
Don’t let that face up there fool you. LJG can be one tough dude.

Will watch Lee Jun-ki in anything, even if it sounds awfully familiar.

This is the second time this year. I get excited for a project by one of my favorite actors only to be conflicted because they have to share the screen with Lee Kyung-young who I unequivocally do not support. First The Veil with Namkoong Min and now Lee Jun-ki. I dont like being put in this conundrum.

@tineybeanie, the sageuk fangirls and their forever Oppa.
I've loved him since "The King and the Clown."
I'm happy to see him in something at least once a year at least.

Lee Kyung-young is doing what he does best, playing another criminal.

Because it fits him well. He was a criminal. Hopefully he is a changed man..but I doubt it!

Why do you doubt it? Have you read that he has committed similar crimes in the 20 years since this incident?

Why does Lee Kyung-young have to be in every project starring actors I like? I have no idea how this man still has an active career. It’s horrifying.

But on the brighter side, it’ll be great to see Lee Jun-ki again. Even if I am skeptical about the plot.

Glad Lee Jun-ki is coming back though wish it wasn't SBS. Lee Kyung-young is also a big NO.

In a way, this synopsis reminds me of Graceful Family, and what a great drama that was -- never say no to Lee Jun-Ki

Excited to see Lee Jun Ki back in a new drama. His last performance was amazing. Hope he has another strong, compelling role.
I heard the premiere will air in April 2022 which seems so far away~~!
