Rebelling against prohibition in new promos for When Flowers Bloom, I Think of the Moon

KBS’s upcoming fusion sageuk When Flowers Bloom, I Think of the Moon has just released a new poster and video teaser.

Taking place during a period in Joseon when prohibition laws were at their strictest, the drama stars Yoo Seung-ho (Memorist) as the by-the-books government official Nam Young who has the challenging task of enforcing the ban. Enter alcohol-maker Hyeri (My Roommate Is a Gumiho), and shenanigans plus romance ensue. Hyeri’s character is Kang Ro-suh, a young woman who’s determined to turn her life around and strike gold by running her brewery — law or no law.

Our main quartet also includes the alcoholic crown prince Lee Pyo, played by Byun Woo-seok (Record of Youth), and the silver-spooned and headstrong Han Ae-jin, played by Kang Mina (Hotel del Luna).

The newly released teaser opens with a fun chase sequence as government officials chase down criminals. We see Hyeri’s alcohol collection being thrown out and she is placed in front of an executioner. In voiceover, she and Yoo Seung-ho explain the context, which is repeated on the subsequent text screen: “It was a time when alcohol was a crime.”

The teaser then cuts to a montage of close-ups revealing the four main characters, intercut with text screens that announce: “The rebellion of young adults who don’t know boundaries has begun.”

When Flowers Bloom, I Think of the Moon is directed by Hwang In-hyuk (Doctor Prisoner) and written by Kim Joo-hee, and premieres December 20 following The King’s Affection. The drama will also be available on the Korean streaming platform Wavve.

The posters seem more quirky than the teaser. I wonder if the tone will be keep being serious or leeway into comedy.

Very few comments. I guess nobody is excited But yeah I think teaser and poster both go in the opposite directions. Like poster shows it will be funny and ML got involved in alcohol brewing and had to keep it secret while the teaser shows it gonna way more serious.

Shouldn't it be "When Flowers Bloom, I Think of the Booze"?
