Ahn Hyo-seop has A Business Proposal for Kim Se-jung in new teaser

A new video teaser has been released for SBS’s upcoming rom-com A Business Proposal, featuring lead actors Kim Se-jung (The Uncanny Counter)and Ahn Hyo-seop (Lovers of the Red Sky).

Based on a popular web novel by Hae Hwa which was released on Kakao, the drama stars Ahn Hyo-seop as CEO Kang Tae-moo. In a classic trope, his meet-cute with Kim Se-jung is one of mistaken identity. Kim’s character Shin Ha-ri is just an ordinary employee who happens to work at Ahn’s company. When she is coerced into pretending to be her friend on a blind date, the other party turns out to be Ahn (of course!) and shenanigans ensue.

The teaser starts with Ahn Hyo-seop introducing himself, “My name is Kang Tae-moo. I will tell you about myself. Basically, I’m good at everything.” A text screen appears, labelling him as, “A man who excels in many areas.” The teaser then cuts to Kim Se-jung getting ready for the date, and pulling out all the stops. In voice-over, we hear Seol In-ah (Mr. Queen) pleading with Kim, “Ha-ri, you need to help me! I need to escape from the blind date marriage market. Please use your acting skills for me just one more time.” The following text screen explain that Ha-ri is, “A woman with God-given acting ability.”

At the meeting location, Ahn Hyo-seop calls out to Kim Se-jung, “Ms. Jin Young-seo?” Kim is conflicted to see that the blind date she is meeting in her friend’s place is actually her company CEO. As the camera flips back and forth between the two, the captions explain, “Two people meet on a blind date.” Although Kim Se-jung goes ahead with her act to try and squash Ahn Hyo-seop’s interests, he decides, “I will marry the woman I met today.”

We get a brief glimpse of Kim Min-kyu (Snowdrop) as he almost runs over Kim Se-jung with his car. She’s busy trying to hide from Ahn Hyo-seop at work and an irate Seol In-ah demands, “What did you do exactly to make Kang Tae-moo want to marry you?” Shocked, Kim Se-jung repeats, “He wants to get married? To you!?” However, Ahn Hyo-seop is onto their little game and he tells Seol In-ah, “Please bring her here first.” Seol asks, “Who?” and Ahn replies, “The woman I was going to marry.” The teaser comes to a close on Ahn Hyo-seop and Kim Se-jung meeting each other again in the rain.

Directed by PD Park Sun-ho (Greasy Melo) and written by Han Seol-hee (Rude Miss Young-ae 16) and Hong Bo-hee (High Kick 3: Counterattack of the Short Legs), SBS rom-com A Business Proposal is currently set to premiere in February.

I am disappointed, seems like there’s no pink hair, i was exited to see how they will handle the pink wig disguise in the manhwa, i enjoyed reading the manhwa, i wonder now how he will not recognize her without the pink wig.

Me too! The pink wig was the first thing I thought of when I was clicking on the trailer.

Such a missed opportunity...

I don't think romance is the best genre for Ahn Hyo-Seop...

It's sad because the story looks fun.

So Secretary Kim x Secret Life of My Secretary? Ahn Hyo-Seop is one of those actors that would be better off in supporting roles for longer.

Erm i can't tell it's the same story as the manhwa from just the teaser or the visual. Nothing in common.

Please be better than Lovers of the Red Sky and Abyss. That's all I ask.

That's actually a very low bar but anything can happen in the K-drama land haha. I still remember how Doom crushed my expectations for romcom last year. I still sadly haven't recovered from it.

OK, I'm sold. I will definitely be watching this one.

Not a fan of AHS's hairstyle here, it makes his face look weirdly chubby haha. I really like the manhwa so I might check it out but I'll keep my expectation low.

This worries me, because AHS's next gig is Someday or One Day Remake. And this looks nothing close to impressive. T_T
On the bright end, Kim Min Kyu and his dimple are a welcome appearance on my screen! :')

Me too, only rarely is a remake better or equal to an original.

I was debating whether to watch anyway just out of curiosity but I think the casting has made that decision for me. I don't know why they remake masterpieces. They're just setting themselves up for disappointment.

Damn, glad I found someone who thinks alike! :P Did you have a casting in mind, for the remake? :D

Hmm... let me think.

For the male lead, Lee Do-hyun
For the female lead, Park Ju-hyun

Maybe.

Greg hsu's expressions and smiles in sood reminds me of Park Hyungsik and Alice Ke as won ji nah. With ahn hyo seop as li zi wei, I am sure the remake will be butchered. Sorry.

I totally agree with one comment that people should remake a show when the original show is not a master piece; otherwise, why remaking it in the first place. As LT said, you've set yourselves and everyone up for a disappointment.

Unfortunately, re-makes are a bad habit which is endemic to the entertainment industry world-wide. What it really represents is a shortage of creative writing talent capable of producing good original work.

And WE know they will touch the writing that is immoral for this one!

I know kdramas love their young CEO's but isn't he too young? Of course I don't know the source material but maybe a slightly older pair of actors would have been more convincing.

Noo! I love this manhwa! I was hoping for slightly older actors that can pull off the very grown up themes of this story.

Ahn Hyo-Seop looks here so much like Jun-ho.... I am surprised.
He is gorgeous, by the way.

Huh. Is there an official number of how many times one can see the same story in kdrama before you have to just quit watching? Maybe I’m just cranky today 😟

And now you've set up expectations for a fish cult.

2

Oh, but, will they have something as noteworthy as the hand wash scene?

Until one Beanie pointed out that the lead is the same person who starred in Romantic Doctor 2, I hadn't been able to recognize him at all. Something about him has changed, and I prefer the less chubbier version of his face. I don't know if it has to do with his hair or not.

Honestly, ever since the cast for this and sixth sense kiss (similarities being r/s between CEO and employee) were announced, I couldn't stop thinking about the casts being exchanged, because based on the webtoon, nothing about that drama required an older cast (even the art there had younger looking people), whereas this one does because of its content. Because tbh just visually, I really find it hard to believe that these characters would be desperate about getting married or even worn out by the number of blind dates they were put through. But that is just visually, hopefully the drama makes the characters likeable enough to ignore that.

Kim Sejung is so likeable and charming. This doesn’t look exciting but I hope it surprises us.
