My kdrama viewing is from April, 2016 to present with some dramas airing before that date.
My process: I did a quick scan of my viewing log and listed 30 dramas. My ten come from that cut and are in the order of viewing:

Lol so trying to name my top 10 dramas turned into me cateloguing all the dramas I'd seen since 2017 and marking the ones I'd "really liked" from the others. It's was rather enlightening because looking back I haven't had as much of a drama "drought" as I thought I'd had, although 2021 was a low year... and this year is even lower so far. Darn you, Netflix! And broadcasting stations that are going for the 18+ rating now!

Hello, all! Now that this post is plenty old enough to never be seen, I've made a thing. Similar to many of you, I've been tallying our Top 10s from this chat to see our favorite dramas this year. I've enjoyed comparing these to tallies from previous years, but I kept finding it difficult to really see all the details.

SO I made a spreadsheet with literally every detail I thought could be interesting (drama names; basic information like episodes, year completed, and genres; tallies from the Top 10s of 2017, 2022, and 2023; different methods to compare popularity; etc.). Apparently I have way too much time on my hands. 🤣 Anyway, you can find the link below!

I did my best to make the spreadsheet user friendly while still packing it with all sorts of interesting information. Feel free to sort columns however you'd like -- it won't change other people's views. You can also focus on different years by clicking through the tabs at the bottom of your screen. I didn’t give the link editing privileges (for obvious reasons), so nothing you can do will mess with the spreadsheet overall.

Because I had to make all sorts of executive decisions, I tried to include notes throughout the main page explaining both a) my rationales, and b) how to understand the various numbers and information included. You can find those notes by hovering over any box with a black triangle in the upper right corner (mostly in the category headings). That said, if you find the pop-up notes annoying, there's a sheet with all the years of data but without any notes (which you can find in the lower tab list).

I also made the spreadsheet super dynamic so that it will be simple to add future Top 10s to the sheet. Hopefully this becomes a yearly tradition, 'cause I really want to see how these trends continue!! (Based on the fact that the 2022 and 2023 lists were exactly a year apart, I'm guessing that's the plan. 🤞) I'll do my best to post this spreadsheet again immediately after the 2024 Top 10 drama chat goes up so that it can be more accessible to people in the future. (I’ll also be posting this same post in the other years’ Top 10 comments in case people look back at those.)

I did my best to look for all the Dramabeans Top 10s that exist, and I only found 2017, 2022, and 2023. That said, if I somehow missed something, please let me know!! I’d love to get more data on the sheet. Also let me know if you find any other mistakes. I did my best to triple-check all my information, but I’m sure I still missed some things.😅
