How Tv Chosun raked in the ratings with this and L ft M&D premiere I do not understand. They seem to have a secret ingredient.

My watchlist are doing so well, even the weekender. I hope Alchemy of Soul's Naksu-Mudeok sync arc moves along with the ratings.

Okay but Woori ending on ratings higher than Link is genuinely a crime

Woori getting these ratings is a crime in general. It doesn't deserve it.

Woori totally deserves it with bad writing, outlandish acting and horrible adaptation.

I haven't even watched Link, and I know this to be true. I can only suspect people turned in to see which man Woori picked. I'd love to see minute-by-minute ratings of the final episode to confirm it tanked after they showed who she picked.

I'm glad Red Heart's ratings rose some toward the end and went out on a high. I wish it could have hit double digits.

Link's ratings make me sad. It deserves so much more.

It's Beautiful Now just can't get past 25%. Pretty much every weekender I've watched has hit 30% by this point.

IT'S BEAUTIFUL NOW is a lower key story that has far less makjang than the weekender which came before. It ratings are starting to creep up although it is doubtful that it will ever match those- which was a real hit ratings wise even though I think that IT'S BEAUTIFUL NOW is actually dramatically superior.

I am thoroughly enjoying AOS! And this week, LJW really took the centre stage with his acting skills and action prowess. JSM is delivering amazingly too. And not to mention, their chemistry is off the charts!! No wonder the ratings are coming in.

The low ratings for Link might be a sign I should pick it up at some point! XD
Recently my fav shows are all low rated ones!

I want to apologize to Love All Play, Shooting Stars, and Link: Eat, Love, Kill because clearly I'm bad luck.

🤣🤣🤣 It’s gutting isn’t it that other shows seem to find it easy to reach those higher numbers even though the general consensus is that they are not that good.

General consensus from you guys from outside Korea maybe...but it is the Koreans who watched them. Def proof that the shows are better than you think

Good point, we all have different tastes. The number of channels and options domestically will influence which shows are selected by the audience. Therefore, as we only have a fraction of the shows available and are not watching live we are likely to prioritise differently.

Hopefully there will be different polls and awards to recognise the shows and I guess the actors and actresses will be fine with their ratings as they will see the bigger picture in terms of their career trajectory.

I’m glad Eve keeps on rising, I’m totally enjoying all the campy fun with their outlandish theatrics also shows that syj wasn’t cowed by the scandal

Our weekender IT'S BEAUTIFUL NOW is doing OK - which makes sense now that real conflicts and problems have really come out. It is still far less makjang than its predecessor (which had higher ratings) but I am enjoying it far more precisely because it is not employing plot tricks like amnesia.

As for WOORI- what started well fizzled due to poor plot choices by the writer. No wonder that the ratings disappointed.

ALCHEMY OF SOULS is starting well, and one has to hope that it continues that way. Given that this is a Hong Sisters drama one has to be a bit anxious about that. I would note that this is not really a Sageuk Fantasy: The Hong sisters draw inspiration from non-Korean sources and in this case, they seem to be modelling their story on Chinese fantasy dramas and Wuxia martial arts dramas. That is a very rich (if not inexhaustible) source of ideas so perhaps they will deliver a show which is good to the end. The superior cinematography also reflects the Chinese shows- the Chinese often lavish a great deal of expense and attention to that in their costume fantasies.

I'm also enjoying the glorious costumes, scenery, cinematography, CGI, and overall production values of Alchemy. It should be much higher than ~6%! I'm a little worried that the show has blown too much of its budget on visuals early in its run, though, and that it will go downhill aesthetically when money gets tight. That seemed to happen to Master's Sun, which looked pretty good in the first several episodes and rather threadbare by the end.

Woori deserved even lower ratings than it got, by the end. I wonder how many viewers either kept hate-watching it or just left the TV on after whatever preceded it. Some long-ago American TV columnist (I forget the name) had a negative rating system based on how many shoes he wanted to throw at the screen during a show, and Woori would need an NBA player's closet's worth.

Red heart deserved this high rating for last two episodes. Unfortunately, it couldn't hit double digits but overall was great for this Sageuk.

Insider has average rating but was the lowest among othe dramas in the same time slot. I hope it's not lower than 3%
