- ENA’s Good Job has dropped a new poster featuring leads Jung Il-woo (Bossam: Steal the Fate), a private investigator who happens to be a chaebol, and our super-powered heroine Kwon Yuri (Bossam: Steal the Fate). Coming to our screens in mid-August, production is being led by PD Kang Min-gu and PD Kim Sung-jin, as well as writers Kim Jung-ae and Kwon Hee-kyung. [News]
- Over on Netflix, we have a new poster plus video teaser for A Model Family. Starring Jung Woo (Mad for Each Other), Park Hee-soon (Dr. Brain), Yoon Jin-seo (Jackpot), and Park Ji-yeon (Red Heart), the crime thriller premieres in just a few weeks on August 12. - Rising star and best hair flip of the year, Ha Yoon-kyung (Extraordinary Attorney Woo), is considering a role in tvN’s upcoming See You in My 19th Life, potentially joining Shin Hye-sun (Mr. Queen) and Ahn Bo-hyun (Yumi’s Cells 2). PD Lee Na-jung (Fight My Way, Mine) is attached to direct with Choi Young-rim and Min Ye-ji co-writing. [Osen]
- We get our first look at Coupang Play’s Unicorn team in the office, looking up Elon Musk and Bill Gates on Instagram during their meeting. The sitcom stars Shin Ha-kyun (Beyond Evil), Won Jin-ah (Hellbound), and Lee Yoo-jin (Idol: The Coup), and will be launching sometime this August. [Newsen]
- KBS confirmed their lineup for Brain Collaboration and we now have Yeh Ji-won (Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol) rounding out the main cast, joining Cha Tae-hyun (Police University), Jung Yong-hwa (Sell Your Haunted House), and Kwak Sun-young (Inspector Koo). Slotted for an early 2023 premiere, PD Lee Jin-seo will be directing with scripts by Park Kyung-sun. - Casting news was also announced for TVING’s Everything We Loved (roughly translated), which stars a fresh-faced cast: EXO’s Sehun (Now We Are Breaking Up), Jo Joon-young (Idol: The Coup), and Jang Yeo-bin. Written by Kang Yoon with directing by PD Kim Jin-sung, the youth romance is set to broadcast in 2023. [My Daily]
- In a final round of promos, MBC released more stills and a poster for Wild Boar Hunting, featuring the main cast. Premiering August 1 in the Monday-Tuesday slot, the mystery thriller stars Park Ho-san (Today’s Webtoon), Yeh Soo-jung (Link: Eat, Love, Kill), and Kim Soo-jin (Anna). [MBC (1), (2)]

If Jung Ilwoo wasn’t playing a chaebol, I’d have said that the lope-sided sneer he is wearing in the poster was a nice touch like “come at me!” but anything with a chaebol character even a mixed one such as this gives me whiplash as arrogance would be baked in.
Incidentally, what other hybrids they can come up with? Shaman & chaebol, astronaut & chaebol, teacher & chaebol, therapist & chaebol, nurse & chaebol….?

Now I want to go back to the "lead characters with unique jobs" discussion from a couple of weeks ago and add "& chaebol" to all of them. Lunch lady & chaebol, stuntwoman & chaebol, chicken-sexer & chaebol, pretend-robot & chaebol, naked fireman & chaebol ...
The only real-life private investigator I actually know is also - well, not a chaebol, because this is the US, but the son of a very, very wealthy family.
So her superpower is being able to see distant objects really well? How is this different from having binoculars? Tune in to find out!

ENA’s 16 episode W/T drama GOOD JOB is on Viki US’s “Coming Soon” list as a ‘Viki Original’ no less. Episode one airs Aug. 24.

For See You in My 19th Life, I feel ABH is much more what I envisioned for the second male lead tbh. Nothing to do with his acting which I find is fine, but more the fact that he doesn’t give that meek, somewhat frail type of image. I was imagining someone more like Im Siwan or something but hopefully the casting works out.
Anyways, still looking forward since I like the webtoon but tbh my expectations for any adaptation is kept kinda low since there’s only so much content you can jam into 16-20 episodes.

I am loving the multi level poster for A model family what a wonderful way to show that there is so much more than first appears to the story.
Everything we loved and See you in my 19th life are two I am looking forward to in 2023. I am learning the lesson re webtoon adaptions this time and will see them as two very different entities that happen to have the same name.

I am really interested in the first three..
* Good Job with Jung Il Woo and Kwon Yuri. As a Bossam fan, I can't pass up thie opportunity to see them in another drama together.
* See You In My 19th Life... one reason only and its Shin Hye Sun. I love her!
* A Model Family has Park Hee Soon and Jung Woo. I need a non-romance drama and it has actors I like in their previous works.

The plot around Wild Boar Hunting is scaring the hell out of me. It doesn't kill the excitement though.

I will be watching Netflix’s upcoming 10 episode drama A MODEL FAMILY. Based on a review of the casting on MDL this looks like it will be an ‘adult’ drama. Interestingly ML Jung Woo’s character’s name is Dong Ha.
This crime/thriller looks like it would have been a perfect drama for the real life Dong Ha (1992).

1. I am so incredibly excited for this reunion that no logical reasons can trump my joy. ENA is on a roll these days!
2. Sexy Park Hee-soon. I need no other reason. Must watch.
3. Our Spring Sunshine with the reigning queen of acting Shin Hye-sun herself. I adore both of these women.
4. Musk and Gates? That workplace’s about to be hella toxic. Won Jin-ah, please stay safe!
5. Yeh Ji-won is always a win for any drama she’s in. Her presence just elevates any role.
6. Perhaps a bit too fresh-faced. Maybe hire at least one person with proven acting chops?
7. I feel like this one’s been floating under the radar. I hope Viki or even Netflix manages to pick this up.
