Drama viewership ratings for the week of Aug. 1-7, 2022

This week Poong the Joseon Psychiatrist takes the spot of Link: Eat, Love, Kill and is already doubling its ratings, while Extraordinary Attorney Woo continues to fly high (mentioning that its ratings sunk to just under 15% seems like a joke, so we won’t go there). Meanwhile, our weekend dramas continue to fluctuate a bit under the new competition, but Alchemy hits its former peak, and Big Mouth and The Good Detective 2 both soar to new heights in their second episodes of the week.

EAW is dropping this week...it is because of the loveline? I missed this week episode. Wondering what changes in their primetime slot...

I think the drama reached its roof. it's still the talk of the town and keeping its audience (the drop in ratings is not that big at all), which is the main goal. there were some comments of men complaining about it being """too feminist""", especially after the last episode, but I don't think it's that relevant to make your average viewer not tune in, especially considering we're reaching the last episodes. I think it will end its run with this same 15% rating, maybe with a high peak for the last 2 eps.

A slight dip this late into the series after a meteoric rise isn't that bad. I think Hanbada representing a string of not very sympathetic clients could have led some to put this on hold. But the clients are all part of the growth.

The novelty of the female lead character is wearing off. It is now just a legal drama.

Disappointed in MiRae...she needs to be very lonely and heartbroken for a while to see what it feels like. But, dramaland...

I think her reaction (not considering the preview bcs it can easily be misleading) made a lot of sense with her character. the writing was really well done because each character involved reacted in a way that would make sense for what they have shown us: hyunjae's father looking for a way to solve things, yj and sj thinking about their brother, etc. mirae has been a devoted daughter all her life so it makes sense that she would think this is what she has to do. I wouldn't do it, but I understand where she's coming from.

AoS' rating would have been higher if not for stiff competition from a popular male lead actor (not mine) in Big Mouth.
