Song Joong-ki is Reborn Rich to face off against Lee Sung-min

Our leads are finally in character for JTBC’s latest teasers for Reborn Rich, putting Song Joong-ki (Vincenzo) and Lee Sung-min (Juvenile Justice) head-to-head in a tense game of billiards.

Naturally, this is ~symbolism~ for the story that unfolds with Lee Sung-min playing the crafty and strategic villain Jin Yang-chul, head of the grand chaebol group Soonyang. When our wronged hero Yoon Hyun-woo (Song Joong-ki) is rewarded with betrayal after devotedly working as Soonyang’s personal secretary, he tragically meets death’s door. But fortune gives him another chance at life and he’s given the opportunity for the perfect revenge by resurrecting into the body of Yang-chul’s grandson: Jin Do-joon.

The newly released full teaser begins with Hyun-woo entering Yang-chul’s office and as the two engage in their game, we hear Hyun-woo’s monologue in voiceover:

I never thought I could beat you, even if I woke up from the dead.
However, there’s something you don’t know.
That I stand before you right now as someone who has actually been resurrected from dying.
And that I’ve been reborn into the bloodline of the very family that killed me.

As an angry Yang-chul mugs fantastically for the camera, furious at how the game has played out, we transition from a pleasantly satisfied Hyun-woo to the sober-faced Do-joon who is ready to start his revenge.

In addition to the above, short three-second teaser was also released, which can be found here (blink and you miss it).

Directed by PD Jung Dae-yoon (I’m Not a Robot, W-Two Worlds) with writing by Kim Tae-hee (Designated Survivor: 60 Days, Sungkyunkwan Scandal) and Jang Eun-jae, JTBC’s Reborn Rich premieres November 18.

I am loving the sepia tones of these stills. This is reminiscent of my dilemma with Little women; I want to watch for the cinematography but the dark undertone is the very thing that prevent me from emerging myself in the story. I will follow the weecap.

It's the 1980's. A dark color tone is expected. Try out the premiere week episodes before deciding to follow in the weecaps only. To follow 32 episodes in weecaps...I don't want to experience such again for dramas I want to watch .

I would literally have nightmares if I watched it but reading gives enough distance to get the gist of the story whilst confirming it would be too stressful. I can’t fast forward through the thriller elements just because I like a camera angle and a colour tone. I can’t help being a scaredy cat but I do know my limits.

It's crazy how Song Joongki becomes two different people with those micro expressions.
