Lee Sang-yoon’s ambitions get derailed by secrets in Pandora

With the premiere for Pandora drawing near, tvN just dropped a short third teaser featuring the flashy lives of its two stars Lee Jia (Penthouse) and Lee Sang-yoon (One the Woman).

The story follows Hong Tae-ra (Lee Jia), the gorgeous and glamorous wife of tech developer turned presidential candidate Pyo Jae-hyun (Lee Sang-yoon). Life is great until one day memories of Tae-ra’s past come flooding back revealing what she used to be before she got married: a killer. Desperate to find out what — or more specifically who — led her to become the former assassin and present day amnesiac trophy wife, Tae-ra chases the ugly truth even as it threatens her idyllic life.

The teaser gives us Jae-hyun’s perspective as an ambitious leader as he announces his presidential candidacy to a throng of cheering press. While he’s all benevolence and charisma on the surface, we see that he also possesses a darker side as he punches a man at a press conference, makes a seedy deal, and tells someone in the voiceover, “Who said I’m nothing but talk?”

Meanwhile, Tae-ra will stop at nothing to protect her husband and his career. The teaser shows her using her newly recovered fighting skills to beat up a series of goons in different locations as she warns someone in the voiceover, “Don’t touch my husband unless you want to die at my hands. He doesn’t know anything about my past. Your fight is with me.”

While it’s pretty clear that Tae-ra is devoted to her husband, the question remains for Jae-hyun: when push comes to shove, will he back his wife? Or will he abandon her for the sake of his political aspirations?

Written by Hyun Ji-min and directed by Choi Young-hoon (One the Woman), Pandora will premiere March 11 on tvN.

Don't tell me that seemingly loving marriage will come under strain thanks to Jae-hyun's political ambitions, and Tae Ra will have to choose who to beat up--her husband, or six thugs, who will unleash evil and misery on the elderly. What an ethical dilemma--its as if she controlled the track switch where a trolley was running out of control toward a pandora's box!

Well that's an interesting combination. Betcha politics wins. Will be watching this to see which one does, wifey or politics.

Lee Sang-yoon playing a character who's shady and perhaps downright villainous. This could be interesting.

I'm also suddenly wondering if Lee Jia's character was actually sent to kill him, but things went awry and she ended up marrying him instead.
