Like it overall. Of course it's not perfect but it was the drama that I looked forward to weekly out of all the on-air dramas I've been watching. The acting is definitely the best aspect of the show.

I really enjoyed this drama. We need more drama with couples of all ages. It was quite refreshing to have a drama where the couple was mature about love, sex, and life problems. Plus there was no let's breakup for an episode just to get back together in the next episode. The show may have some mild problems but overall good show.

This is one of those that start off really well, then insets a few insane sub plots that wasn’t required in the first place and then finishes nicely for the OTP but without resolving major issues.

Good stuff: main OTP

Bad stuff: murder with metal balls, bad bad bad wardrobe choice for the FL, nasty school mums with little or no cumappence, cringey random love plot with a neurodiverse character.

I was late to join on this one but it was an enjoyable watch!! Like others have said, bar the questionable writing choices at some point especially to do with a few of the half-baked and unnecessary sub plot-lines, this was actually a cute and refreshing drama.

I think the slight 'bitterness' I felt due to those writing choices really just stems from the fact that this set the bar high initially and had a lot of good potential - it really shone when it focused on doing what it did best, and that, for better or worse, made the the odd tangents just stand out even more.

Usually when I watch dramas, I very rarely get that involved into whatever the secondary characters plot line is, but this was one of the rare instances where I was at times more invested in the secondary characters - the school kids - than the main characters. Hats off to the entire cast though too, I think they're what really contributed to the successful formula of this show.

5 to 10 years down the road, when dramaland is dry of romance or is worse than current trend of "rom-com+murder", this drama will be certified as a classic and people will enjoy it, but for now no need to bother with this show.

Despite a great cast, the writing was terrible and the resolutions in the final episode left so much to be desired. Go spend your time watching better dramas. My ratings: 6/10.

I tried really hard to love it. I agree 100%, not even the fantastic cast could save the plot and writing here. It seemed to me like the writer had a lot of good ideas and themes but for some reason decided to use every single one of them in the same story at the same time. So we ended up with an undigestible mishmash of some sort.

There is plenty of good material here: a promising, out-of-the-ordinary, mature romance; sweet teens facing serious issues; and the pressure-cooker academic setting that affects kids, parents, and teachers. Unfortunately, those elements, which should be more than sufficient to make a full drama, are as smothered in murder, hidden identities, malicious gossip, and lousy parenting as the FL is in her ugly sweaters and coats. The show also features a deeply troubling secondary romance with a neurodivergent character who is never treated as more than a cipher. Its strength is the cast, which is terrific. Despite lots of funny, touching, and thought-provoking scenes, it all doesn't add up to a coherent whole or produce a satisfying resolution. Watch for the teens and the ML's comic moments and keep that FF button handy.

If without some problematic subplots and bad writing on certain characters, this would be a perfect 10/10 romcom. The OTP is absolutely winning to portray this mature romance where they complete each other, leaving no doubt of their happily ever after. The fashion sense of the FL is never a problem for me.

The teens shown here are almost the best I’ve seen that by and large they support and help each other grow (as opposed to seeing school bullies one drama after another). @lapislazulii is spot on about the drama not able to meet the high bar it has initially set.

Ep 1-12 fantastic, 13-15 messy but 16 is a pretty good wrap up.

Even the other pressure cooker families depicted here have their justifiable endings.

Should you watch it? I think you should and you will have a pretty good one knowing it won’t be perfect.

Nope, it is not perfect, but it offers more than the normal romcoms and those idol dramas. And, besides, it opens the eyes that older and more mature couples exist out there, instead of showing only younger and prettier looking couples only. Romance is for everyone, not just the young.

Loved the show! While the bashers kept on pointing out the age gap between the ML and the FL, and as a bystander who didn't know how old they actually were, I think they had good chemistry. The FL needed to be mature enough to pull off having a teenage daughter. I felt the ending to be a little hurried but still, everybody got their wrap up.

I love to watch Nam Haeng Seon. Even though she doesn't have a beautiful appearance, she makes me believe that the normal person in the world will be a special person with someone.

I just finished Crash Course in Romance and wanted to share my opinion. I highly recommend this drama. Romance is a “side dish” in this drama and the main course is the highly competitive scholars who try mightily to get the top grades to get into the best universities. The parents are in the spotlight, showing how some of the intensely-focused parents can drive their children to tragic ends. If all this sounds dark, it is. But the side dishes drive the romance and watching the FL’s family and the driven math instructor (ML) is a delight.

As an aside:
The fashions in this KDrama were odd. The FL, Jeon Do-yeon, wore jeans in nearly all the episodes but her tops were weird. Nearly all the tops were oversized sweaters with big collars and ruffled shoulders, adding at least 20-30 lbs to the slim FL. The shoulders of a “set-in sleeve” sweater should not be off the shoulder. In one particular scene, she could have passed for a football player. In one of the series best scenes, the FL was wearing an oversized blue coat that could have hidden a tiny house. This is the second K-drama I have watched where the fashion was off-putting. The other was My Sunshine (2015 Chinese drama). That show was wonderful, but Tiffany Tang’s outfits were downright jarring.
