Not yet, but I just finished Find Yourself! I liked in overall. I thought the characters were real, had good conversations and were fun to meet and be around. I guess I’m in more in the forgiving camp about the second male lead by the end as well. It was a new thing for him to have to pursue a girl and his methods were not ideal. They weren’t inherently evil, but very misguided. He was jealous of the younger fox and was thinking he would outwit him to get the girl. He didn’t think love was a strong enough emotion (their love was stronger than anyone of them knew—well, except Yuan Song) to make everything he ended up doing irrelevant. And that’s a great lesson to learn. And Yuan Song was bothered, but of course couldn’t really do much about it, except to just continue to keep her occupied with him. And this could have backfired as well. But I could admire his tenacity in continuing to pursue her even though she was very much taken. I preferred that Yuan Song was honest that he would continue to love her even as she was trying to live someone else. But you know who my favorite character was? The design engineer who looks like Park Bo Gum!!! Yep, he’s my favorite. I’ll watch Romance if Tiger and Rose this week to ep 21 and be back to talk about this!

Oh my, he does sorta look like Park Bogum now that you point it out lol. He was a great character – I think I appreciate it when a character is unassuming (and thus unexpectedly) a person of integrity and strong will.

I’ve submitted to my fate that no one else will experience the same level of disdain for the 2nd ML as me lol.

Actually, it’s funny because just this morning I was thinking about how Professor Song handled her relationship with her long time partner when she found out she was pregnant. Tho I think this is mainly a fault of bad writing, and yes I can imagine people actually doing this, but I just expected her to have actually left the choice in his hands. Given that she is a (sociology?) professor who also works as a relationship expert.

Yeah—professor song annoyed me at the end as well. It’s that whole noble idiocy where one person assumes what’s best for the other and doesn’t communicate openly. So annoying.

And yes please circle back once you are done with ep 21 of Tiger and Rose!

Ahhhhh!! I just finished it last night (I actually held off for a couple of weeks because from the trailers I knew there were some painful episodes coming up and wanted to make sure there were happier episodes available so I don’t have to dwell too long in the misery – tho the misery wasn’t actually as bad as I expected).

What are your thoughts?? What did you think of the ending?? And speaking of annoying 2nd ML, what did you think of Pei Heng??

I liked it a whole lot than I had thought! This is fluff drama and I got what I wanted in the end – a HEA. And it was a HEA that made sense to me, so that made me extra happy. I was worried that she would wake up and everything were all just part of her dream and nothing more and that she would happen to fall in love with Actor Han just because he looked liked Han Shuo. I’m glad that totally didn’t happen. I was delighted that Actor Han had dreamt about their time too. That they were the same OTP from her dramaworld.

I fell in love with Han Shou episode by episode because he was consistent in his character growth! He came to life, made decisions of his own. Xiaoqian was his creator, but he had freedom to either choose this or that. He changed for the better. He chose to be a better version of himself. I didn’t think his ending was too soapy. It was fitting. It made sense. He had to die because he was written that way and that was the only way she could come back. But I went totally “ooooof! That hurt😭” when he said he was happy to die this time because it was for her. The woman he came to love on his own will. Aaaaaaaaaah 😭

Unfortunate that Chuchu went off the trails when she came to life. I agree with Xiaoqian in the last episode, when life wasn’t fair to her, she sought revenge and revenge and hatred ate her up. I’m glad Cherry was redeemed. I really didn’t like him and I didn’t want him to be redeemed at first. And then I thought about it, he was written to serve ChuChu and did everything he could to overthrow Qianqian because he was written that way. But he came around and realized who he was better off serving as a master. He too had the freedom to either blindly serve ChuChu or see for himself the change in ChuChu that was going wrong.

Anyways, it became too tropey and too political somewhere a long the way because of noble idiocy, and how the drama didn’t really answer “how” they got sucked into her dramaworld, but but the ending made me happy and ep 22 was a memorable episode to me!

Let me know your thoughts about it!

Pei Heng – let’s see. He was very persistent, as a typical trait of a second male lead but he eventually gave up on Qianqian, I’m fine with him. I actually forgot about him after Qianqian and Han Shuo got together. To me he started on another path – to become the military head minister getting out of his shell and broke the norm where females were leading the army.

Trust Famy to say a few words!!

I also liked the ending. And that he was part of the act and brought back the memories though he didn’t have the same awareness as her while he was in it.

He fell for her against the script. And he did everything because he wanted it. I liked that part. He did not follow the script and his love for her felt real because of that.

ChuChu was poorly written. They just made her bad for the sake of it. She could have been a much better villain.

Pei Heng- If you see his as a female second lead (in historic context), his behavior seems consistent, immature and helpless. He annoyed me a bit and then I reminded myself that he is not the ‘man’ we are used to seeing. His context and upbringing is very different. Once I tell myself that I feel sorry for him and don’t hate him.

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL. I swear I thought that was a short…. reply….. then I shookt when I saw how lengthy it was when it was posted!!

Anyways yeah unfortunate ChuChu was badly written; just so we could have our typical villain character, but I`m glad she was re-written at the end.

            I agree with Pei Heng,

You pretty much took the words out of my mouth. I appreciate the overall theme of “don’t judge a book by its cover.” Time and again, characters when they came to life didn’t turn out as they were originally written and expected and not only did Qian Qian needed to learn that lesson but also many of the characters also had to evaluate their understanding of other characters too (like cherry). Besides Han Shuo fully living up to the ML role and capturing all our hearts, I also appreciate the case study of Pei Heng. TBH, he annoyed the crap out of me with his “Han Shuo, you’re trash and you don’t love Qian Qian and she is just temporarily under your spell” nonsense, he was originally written as the perfect male character (eg. educated, gentle, upstanding character, good looking), but the show really made us realize that even a person with such a “perfect” set of traits has their own serious flaws.

Regarding Chu Chu, I’m not familiar with the actress, only other time I saw her was in Put Your Head on My Shoulder and she played a similar role – I hope she’s not typecasted!

My main complaint with the ending is that it was so rushed! Like it was literally resolved in ~5 minutes (when they both realized they had dreamt the same dream).

Oh I just remembered, the other hilarious thing was, I love how Han Shuo’s mom is Mulan rofl
