OH MY BABY (Ep 11-12): I’m not married, heck, I haven’t even had a boyfriend in my life so I feel like I shouldn’t have a say in the matter. But I’ve been watching (HAHAHAHA) 90-Day Fiance with Rose and No-neck Ed and the main reason Rose broke it off with him was the fact that he wasn’t being honest about not wanting kids. Rose broke up with him, not because he was rude to her (which he was) or because he was not good looking (which he also was) – it was the fact that he had been dishonest, when she had been sooo vocal about wanting kids since the beginning. For her it was a dealbreaker, and he could have told her before things got serious, but he omitted it, leading to a breakup.

Fast forward to Oh My Baby – I have to believe that the main conflict this last two episodes wasn’t the fact that Yi Sang was struggling to have a baby, it’s the same with 90-Day Fiance – dishonesty. I get that Yi Sang was uncomfortable to say it, for sure it was a really touchy subject and I won’t take that away from him. Being truthful, especially for hard topics like this will never be comfortable, even with the people we love. But coming into the relationship, I think he should have told her that as a caveat – like hey, “I want to start this, I like you, but the reason why I’ve been adamant all this time is because I have this condition.” That’s why I love that Ha Ri more or less, called him out on it, acknowledging that there will be a lot of conversations like that that they have to stomach. And that they will have to talk about it if they intend to have a healthy relationship.

I think the point here is the importance of communication – no matter what the couple is going through, but especially when it gets hard, having a serious conversation is important. It doesn’t matter if it ends up with an argument, because arguments can be mended and people can agree to disagree. But the hurt dishonesty could cause can leave deep and irreparable scars – that’s what we want to avoid.

Girlll ditto on giving examples of dramas/movies because there is no real life personal experience 😂
Plus I really need to catch up on OMB, it’s a topic hardly discussed but so important these days.

HAHAHA, I love Rose too! She’s the best, and I love that she wasn’t afraid to tell Ed off. Good for her that she moved on from that jerk.
