Eun Joo…I am starting to think she gets off on being cruel to her mother..She catagorically looks down on her mother, why because she wasn’t the breadwinner so her efforts don’t count
I don’t think she looks down to her mother (I still haven’t watched episode 8).
So I’m just talking about episode 7 and previous. JinSook is the mother and EunJoo is her daughter.
EunJoo has grown thinking her mother wanted to kill her and herself, and going through a very rough time in her twenties when she earned as much money as her dad, and gave it all to her family.
She’s been the main supporter of her family and she’s never really got her mother’s love, who’s clearly bent to EunHee and JiWoo. She didn’t even get a “thank you” from her family about how hard she worked in her twenties. She had already told EunHee (who didn’t mutter a thing because it was true) and she told her mum on episode 7.
This family clearly has communication problems.
She refuses to see her father playing any part in this mess, it is all her mother’s fault…her misunderstandings are being cleared….we are running out of excuses for her to be this nasty.
He takes her dad’s side just as EunHee takes always her mum’s side. I agree that she’s a harsh person, but I do like her and I find her more reliable than Eun Hee.

No, I disagree…Eun Hee takes her mother’s side but hasn’t gone out of her way to be hurtful to him yet…..watch episode 8…her struggles don’t excuse her here. Her mother may not have gone out of her way with expressing love for her and that contributed to her bitterness, I agree. But raising her doesn’t count in Eun Joo’s head as doing enough as a mother, so in that sense she does look down on her, keep in mind Eun Joo’s mother raised 3 kids on limited income. See, episode 8. It irked me. I am getting tired…it must be exhausting for her mother to deal with her. Birth secret aside, I seriously am starting to run out of patience with her. Also, I can’t get that a grown adult getting a divorce herself wants to shame her mother for prioritizing herself. It is not sitting well with me.
Oh, I’ve already watched episode 8.
I really like Eun Joo, even with all her flaws.
Regarding mum, she made her life miserable and also her kids because she asumes her husband cheated on her. In this episode it seems clear that he hadn’t (something I had been thinking from the beginning). In fact, Miss Suk is the less likeable member of the family to me.
