I have 2nd female lead syndrome. I like Yeon Joo. I hope Yeon Joo remains great. She doesn’t seem mean so far. I want her to be happy just as much as I want Saetbyul to be happy.

I don’t think she is exactly mean but it’s selfish to keep the boyfriend away from her family because she is embarrassed about him and to deceive him about this.

She seems to be afraid of her mother. Her mother has some weird standards, no piggyback rides as a kid because mum thinks her legs will be bent (me: what?). I don’t think she’s ashamed of Daehyun, she just doesn’t know how to confront her family or how they will accept him. If she really was ashamed….her colleagues wouldn’t know they are dating and she would have kept it a secret from everyone.

They probably started dating when he was still an employee at the same company so she couldn’t hide it from them. There is also the fight at the bar, she lied to him and told him to fire SB even though she knew she had helped her. If she knew SB’s intentions it would be easier to excuse the lie but as it was, she just wanted her to be fired for being pretty.

She can be petty but I like her and I do think she makes a good pair with Da Hyun. But she has to confront her family or else nothing matters.

I think they look good together. She also looks good with her best friend. I don’t mind her ending up with either of them, ultimately I want her to be happy. Her jealous streaks feels normal so far and she bottles up a lot too, as evident with the piggyback scenes in ep 5. She doesn’t like it but doesn’t voice it too much, Daehyun was the one who deciphered how Yeonjoo feels and went to apologize. I see YJ and her best friend relationship has the same ease like SB and DH has. Plus, bestie doesn’t seem all that bad either. I haven’t seen a super malicious person among our 4 main leads yet. They all feel like normal, flawed people as of ep 5.
