Hey beanies, this is really random but I’m looking for suggestions for taming my hair. I’ve tried so many products and I can’t find THE product for my hair. You see my hair is thick and I have a lot of it and it tries to be wavy. Tries. Well to he fair when it’s wet it is wavy and I’d love to find a way to keep it that way. But once it air drys it doubles in size and loses its shape. Blow dryers are it’s worse enemy. Some days I wake up and the first thing I think of is Seol’s hair being called dog fur in CITT. Not that her hair was dog fur like tbh.

Any suggestions? The best I’ve found so far is some cocunut hair butter but it’s still not quite there yet. I’m convinced there has to be a product(s) out there for my hair type but I can’t find it. All these internet reviews have me going in circles. Really, I’m open to any suggestions. 😩 My poor hair can’t stand being straightened so much in the long run.

I have a curly hair. The only way I get to tame it down is by applying mouse. I apply Alberto Mega Hold #5 on my damp hair after combing it. I would want to show you what my hair looks like, but I don’t want to post my picture on a public website. Maybe if you have discord or twitter or something, I can send you a dm of what mine looks like if you’re interested.

Anyways here is the product I use. I know they say mousse is bad for daily use but I don’t care. This is my holy grail

Good luck finding the product that your hair will like!

Interesting question. I have thick coarse hair that I can’t keep long. Since I’ve been isolating from home I’ve been keeping my hair thinned out with a pair of thinning shears. Got them on Amazon for about 10$ i think.
God knows I’d love to have thick curly hair, but I found for me the best control was to thin some of it out. Do you have someone to do that for you?

I actually discovered thinning my hair out a few years ago and it was a huge help. I’m not going to hair salons right now either so I get anyone around the house to do it for me. 😏

You can buy a pair of thinning shears on Amazon. But I warn you – it’s kind of addictive and fun to thin your hair. It might help you for the time being.

How many times a week do you apply conditioner? I used to have voluminous hair as well, and not in a sexy glamorous kind of way. So I opted for a neat straight cut instead of layers and I apply conditioner every single time I wash my hair. Neat cut makes the hair more organized and conditioner softens it, for me at least. It took me around 1 year to get it under control. I still use hair curler or straightener when I want to style my hair, but I could go to work without having a dent in my confidence with my untouched hair. I keep it medium length. Hope it might help you 🙂

You know I’ve been debating the layers in my hair. I always figured layers would help my waves but recently I’ve started to wonder if it’s counterproductive. What with smaller strands of hair it may create more volume? Idk but it’s going to take a while to grow my layers out. I shampoo and condition every other day…I hope that’s enough.

For my hair layers are counterproductive. Because it makes the strands curl wildly. But it really depends on the hair. I washes my hair almost everyday, maybe the frequency helps. Hope you find solutions soon.

I have wavy/curly hair. I never ever brush it when dry only in the shower with conditioner and only with fingers, wide tooth comb, or a denman brush.
Lately I’ve been combing the canopy of the hair out separately then the underneath.
I flip my hair over as I rinse the conditioner out. Scrunch excess water out with my hands and then lightly smooth style, usually gel sometimes over another leave in, then scrunch again.
I plop it in an old tee or microfiber towel as I finish getting ready. Then let it air dry.
It’s not perfect but I’m pretty happy with it.

I should really try the tee technique, even if my family looks at me quizzically lol. I’ve seen it on YouTube so much but I’ve never actually given it a try.

With plopping I’m never as precise as what they do on YouTube but I like the results.
I havent watched this video, but because I’ve watched some of her content I was rec’d it the other day. Maybe something you can use.

Should say its Manes by Mel. She and her sister are styling two people with wavy hair. She does hair tutorials on YouTube.

Hey so I don’t have thick or wavy hairs but other ppl close to me do. There’s this “curly girl” method aka cg that ppl with thick Friday, wavy hair are following and omg their hair are legit goals. They look so pretty and their hair have this perfect shape (rings) and aren’t frizzy. From what I know there is a lot of content regarding this online so you will easily find the details. Ser if this helps 🙂

When I was in the states there was this product from FX called Curls Up and it worked perfectly. It worked magic I even made it ship to Europe afterwards. Now I use ricinus oil or nothing, because I chopped them off again;-) I have really thick hair and every time I cut them really short (6mm) they became curlier.
