25% for agreeing wholeheartedly about Doctors and RMPW, DOTS was okay-ish for me. I would include 5% for METS too, especially for the last 4-6 eps but it was my first ever drama and I have such a soft spot for it lol

Of these, I have only seen Playful Kiss all the way to the end. I actually like it (it was my intro to kdrama) 😄 but I can see why that would not be the case for everyone 😅

@juniebug and @beffels I was just pondering today on the fact that we tend to be attached of our first dramas even if now we don’t think they’re that great. For me it’s YOU’RE BEAUTIFUL. I came to PK and DOTS much later so I was more critical by then 😬

My first Asian drama was It Started With a Kiss and my first kdrama was Goong and I have no residual affection whatsoever for either of them 😂

I’m definitely more critical now – I don’t know if I’d make it through PK if I was watching it for the first time now (I did make it all the way through no trouble on a rewatch earlier this year though) 🤷‍♀️

A big reason why Master’s Sun is on my favorites list is because it was my first drama :).

I have a soft spot for tooo many dramas because it was my first this or first that LOL But, definitely if I were to watch some of them now, I don’t know if I would be able to get through them haha (BOF was one of these for me and I watched it with a couple friends earlier this year and we fast forwarded the last like 6 eps LOL)

Interesting! May I ask why Extraordinary You is on the list? I didn’t end up finishing it but I liked the beginning.

I really reallyliked Extraordinary You up to Episode 9, when the drama gave up explaining why things happen and left it all to the whim of the Writer. Dan-oh lost her spunk and her fight to be anything but an extra became pointless…. that’s my interpretation. Others saw some deep philosophical implications. I just saw a story that failed to live up to its promise.

Extraordinary You is the only one of these that I’ve seen. It definitely had its moments, but I agree the second half was disappointing. It ultimately became a forgettable drama for me.

(Another one I was so glad I dropped. Since it drove me insane from like episode 5 onwards lol)

The repetitive dialogue is what truly drove me nuts. They spend the second half of the drama just standing around reiterating the situation they are in.
As for the writing/plot, it got to the point where I just couldn’t be bothered to try to make sense of it.

You dropped out just in time. If you look at it like a metaphor of the writing process, and how characters hang from strings like puppets, it might be an interesting watch… but once the drama threw in amnesia it became a mess.

A metaphor for the writing process? Oh yeah sure… except their satire was a gimmick and a scam so anything they were trying to say about the writing process is now meaningless.
And if the only thing left is the implication that characters and plot and therefore story telling DOESN’T MATTER and that writing fundamentals are MEANINGLESS because an author can do whatever they want… and if the application to real life is that we’re all just puppets on a string in a closed system, and the creator doesn’t exist, and consciousness is inexplicable and possibly not even real… why the hell would I want to watch a show about that.

… Dang it Toki, you made me mad at it again.

I sat down several times to try and write an essay on the darned thing and I just about drove myself bonkers, that’s how stupid it was. It was literally going to cause me more grief just trying to critique it and explain its flaws, let alone finish it, so I just gave up. It goes on my hit list of scam shows instead.

So yeah it’s a metaphor for the writing process… of what not to do.

Oops, sorry to have made you mad again. I mean, the world missed out on a magnificent sh*tpost had you finished the drama…. but more likely it would have been a drawing of a dead Joker Queen who had amnesia due to the unbelievable stress of going bonkers and refused to be recycled in a future story.

Oooh, I’d like to see your list of “scam shows”.

EY almost made it onto my list. It was one of the 9 that could’ve. hahaha
I’ve only seen 35% of this, and didn’t like any of them lol.

Those eligibility criteria are harsh. As a result, we have no matches :/

35% as I dropped and want to erase from my memory Rich Man, TKEM and Extraordinary you.
I did watch Descendants of the Sun, I didn’t hate it, but it can easily be that 5%.
    I haven’t watched the rest.
