Read Zombie Kid and Boy Who Fed On Nightmares to my school age kids and they were surprisingly very interested and liked the story despite the grotesque drawings.
Well Dr. Seuss had even weirder stories and illustrations if I remember correctly, but I loved them. I think kid brains are weird 😅
You’re right. Dr. Seuss has weird drawings but they look quite playful with the colors and them being silly rhymes.
I was amazed at how intently my kids listened and they looked like they were actually affected by the story.
I hope they get the messages. I was thinking of telling the stories to my nieces. Maybe I’ll give it a try next time we meet.
