Couple’s music, continued. And then there is Jung-kyung and Hyeon-hyo. I can only conjecture about how these two are together. I think the affability of Hyeon-hyo is stark against the melancholy of JK. But maybe opposites attract? A pre-teen crush that never matured maybe. I think Hyeon-hyo likes JK just because of her prodigy-ness. He worships her for her talent. Or maybe her violin virtuosity is just that affecting. So I found this Schubert piece, a piano trio in B-flat, that I could see them playing. LOL at the comment from a year ago about the violinist– I think the same could be said about Jung-Kyung.
Maybe! Oh and this video has a really cute part at the beginning where the pianist talks about commiserating with the cellist about “boy” and “girl” problems and calling the string players his “dongseangs” which is adorable.
I wanted to say one more thing about Schubert. The pianist says that this piece was written when Schubert was sick and at the end of his career, almost forgotten. However, Schubert bridged the classical and romantic periods and so many of the romantic era composers (including Schumann and Brahms) revitalized his works and saw the genius of them after his death.
