There was a moment during it when he portrays this sense of wonder, gobsmacked that he could that way, like it was otherworldly to him – followed by his current disbelief that he couldn’t find the courage to go for it, that he actually let it go. It was searingly beautiful and searingly painful, and I hated so much how it turned out for him.
