Great read as always, thank you all for improving our already exquisite watching experience with your insightful and pertinent takes.

I was taken aback by the dream scene, I felt it was a major stylistic left turn, but most of all, I was bothered by the fact that Shi-Mok had mentioned in S1 not having dreams (when Yeo-Jin told him to call her if he had nightmares about the break-in), so that change should’ve been noteworthy to SM (not necessarily to YJ, as she hadn’t been aware of his condition at the time, and had no reason to connect the dots afterwards nor to retain that information). I could be missing something or perhaps SM simply acknowledges the developments in his symptoms without addressing them for us.

I was initially horrified at the bizarre idea of SM having a prophetic dream, but then I realized what SM saw was not 3 (former-)colleagues walking away from him towards “the Light”, but 3 close colleagues he respected and lost in a tragic and irreversible way, whereas Kang just chose to walk a different path (and can still be in SM’s life to an extent). The way YJ’s mind went to the concerning what-if re: Yoon is just an extension of her caring character. Reading your take on the dream sequence made me understand and appreciate it more.

You’re doing S01 starting next week? That is awesome! We’re all trying to fill the FoS-sized hole in our hearts, what better way than going for another round?

Love to you and all your readers, stay safe!

Ooh I’d forgotten about that detail from Season 1! The dream really worked for me though.

Thanks for reading. We were just kidding about covering Season 1, but I did recap it with @sailorjumun here on Dramabeans, if you want something to accompany your rewatch 😉

Not gonna lie, I did tear up when they started walking away from him. Even when puzzled by the writer’s choice, I can’t fault the execution. I guess that’s just how masterpieces work.
Aw, I thought you were going to continue the double-ep review format for S1. I did enjoy the recaps and would always read them as soon as they came out, and I’ll absolutely have them on deck for the rewatch. Thank you very much.
