i’m sad it’s over. i really hope we get a s3 announcement. for several reasons:
– they could absolutely do it
– the nature of s1, s2 set up would lend to a more personal s3 (one stream)
– it would be very smart

i only want them to do it if they want but i feel like this is an endeavor they all love. for all the actors to come back or cameo is a huge bonus. and lcj’s work isn’t done nor do they have answered questions. i have a couple of feelings about this now because i think shows could do serials really well for korean dramas and i think that it would make sense. obviously they left it open but it’s a bit too open for a sharp ending. the last shot though is a signifier that we can have closure regardless. but i genuinely think it would be a mistake to leave it with 2 seasons story-wise. s1 satisfied me and i didn’t need to go further but this doesn’t feel like a sharper close. which, ultimately, is fine and also (contradiction!) a negative.

this makes me think about the nature of korean dramas and how those have changed. yes in part bc of netflix and money and bla bla bla. but in the same vein that means thatttttt there’s been mroe focus on the literal craft. and i’m gonna sound like an asshole but there’s plenty of TV from all over the world made just to be made. if FoS took on its challenge it could be something as intriguing as ‘breaking bad’ which was the last US tv show i ever watched with earnest.

i’m happy and very sad. oh and honestly…..i would want an s3 because i feel like this year has been ripped from all of our hands. i wonder if they could imagine doing this outside of COVID; would it be less stressful? would they want that? they certainly could. all this means is that i hope they all continue to have fruitful careers and continue to do well and pick good projects. that they stay friends. that these are good experiences. when you’re part of something amazing and you love doing your job (ohhhhh how i hate that word) it’s so wonderful. art isnt so bad all the time.

anyway i am gonna probably try and not think about the show for a while. for some reason it made me feel really glad they gave it to us but depressed. because i hate the police and also uhhhhh well im american so there’s lots going on friends.

IMO Korea is suffering from the same prosperity sickness that overtook the American film and Tv industry. People are making huge volumes of content and so the industry has split. 80% of it is banal generic nonsense and 20% of it is utter brilliance. But whereas Korea used to make a certain number of dramas to a certain consistent standard and that consistency was what we all liked about it, you can now point to a few dramas that are the best in the world while drowning in oceans of tripe. If it means we get a FoS series, an Extracurricular and a My Ajusshi than I’m not ungrateful. I just wish that somebody in the world would learn from someone else’s experiences instead of making the same mistakes over and over again.

Answering really quickly but i rly wish that the show could be done in a shorter span therefore it wouldnt be as huge of an undertaking cos 16 eps….

And theyll do what the market demands lbr lmaooo no integrity
