Lee Jung-eun: She’s in everything. I’ve seen her in A Piece of Your Mind, When the Camellia Blooms, Hell Is Other People, Mr. Sunshine, While You Were Sleeping, Fight for My Way, and Parasite.

Until she was 40, she worked part-time jobs, including a tutor and employee at a supermarket. She had to borrow money from other actors.

Damn! It’s very hard to make it in this industry. There was an episode on Happy Together with actors who mostly play secondary characters in several drmas and they all had a hard time because they aren’t really paid that well either, which is why we see them so often.

Whoa, nothing really comes easy! Happy for her achievements! She is a good actress, a reliable ahjumma (but had to think twice though 🤔, kidding aside, I love the various range of her characters!)

It’s a bit shocking, isn’t it because if you look at everything she’s been it, she’s like the backbone of kdrama, and the roles she plays are so varied. She was so cheerily creepy in Hell is Other People and so enigmatic in When the Camelia Blooms. She does scary, angry, older woman to-whom-wrong-has-been-done very well. I thought she was stunning in A Piece of Your Mind. She got “grieving” in the most heart-rending way, and that gave depth of the leads own grieving, and then she turned on a dime and added another level of humour to the whole drama. She is darkly convincing. And then there’s Parasite, especially the moment when she appears at the door in the storm.

True that, she is darkly convincing! I love her when her characters have this vibes of dark and mysterious! Haha
