TALE OF THE NINE-TAILED, ep 10: this immensely powerful mountain spirit was going to let an evil snake take over his body, and use him and his powers to destroy the earth bc of “love”? Is it madness?
I don’t think so. Remember the scene in which he tricked and killed the spirit of darkness and uncovered Imoogi? Yeon has shown that he has more strength and wit than what he shows the world.
I think he had something else up his sleeve too. He said it with his signature smirk that he must have thought of something. He did have his sword pointed towards himself so I wonder if he was going to wait for the transfer then kill himself before the imoogi took full control.
No he wasn’t. That’s why he looked so surprised when the human girl was able to overcome the spirit and stop him from that stupidly selfish and useless decision in the name of “love.”
Idk to me he looked more distraught because she used her part of their debt, and so he couldn’t stop her anymore. I personally watched it as both of them being adorkable fools each trying to out sacrifice the other lmao, till she pulled out the debt he owed her.
The scene is open for interpretation. I think he was surprised because his plan was foiled. He hadn’t taken into consideration that she could break through and call upon his debt.

In the past, he was NOT going to trick that imoogi. He was going to offer up his body.

But was he? I think the human girl sacrificed herself before he could come up with a better plan.

Well, given the surprise on his face when the human girl overcame the imoogi and stopped that sword, he didn’t have any plan up his sleeve.

It’s a huge pity their “love” didn’t inspire them to be more sensible.
