I’m sure DalMi likes DoSan for what he is now, but she loves DoSan for what they shared in the past.
I think DalMi can be in love with the nerd DoSan she has just met, but she needs to know that out there it’s the DoSan that comforted her 15 years ago.

What’s worse is that the show will probably wait until Dal-mi is already in love with Do-san before she finds out, so she really isn’t given a chance to make her own choices (which is ironic since Dal-mi’s choices in life are what defines her already thin character).
