Daehangno Idol taking over vlive 😄
Kim Seonho did a Goodbye 2020 vlive and it ended with 860k viewers and 32mil 💚

It was fun. The best one to me probably when fan asked him to choose between 5 Dindin or 5y.o Dindin and he shakes his head and said both are hard 😂😂

It’s good ‘cause Baby totally deserves this. The more I read his interview I’m more and more happy and proud I like him this much. Hope his sensitive and pure mind don’t harden much by the industry. I’ll be cheering him all the way. 🥰

What makes it even more surreal, is that he got so much major attention and fame in just 2-3 months. I mean, Woah indeed. He probably hasn’t even processed it fully yet. I think doing a play right after is good because it forces him to focus on one thing primarily.

And it takes him back to his roots.

Yeah it helps him stay grounded. He even nodded in agreement when someone said why actors stay in theatre is to stay humble. That being said, I can’t imagine being in his position going from actor who some in the know about’s knew, but generally not as widespread. To now, where his Insta followers blew up to 4.1 million and counting, and more adoration/spotlight in 2-3 months time :O Hope he won’t be type-casted into boring romance/mainstream fare to keep being a ‘star,’ and becomes a great/versatile actor!!

I hope that everything you say becomes true! It’s like everyone is trying protected him and it feels reassuring at least. I also think he is quite lucky because now he has many fans around the world who will support him for a long time(we love humble, but talented and passionate people don’t we?) so if something goes wrong with Knetizens KSH won’t have to deal with that alone. It’s safer that way ‘cause it seems like Kentertainment and the netizens there are very cruel sometimes.

@mmmmm What a lovely comment! I think we all want what’s best for him. In one way, we recognize that he has top star potential as in he just needs a top star writer and top star FL, and a script that hits it big with the public/international audience to push him that next level. Again, I don’t want to get too cynical but realistically speaking, K-entertainment is fickle/wishy washy. There are some big names from back in the day that barely work as much, or have faded. Ex: Jae Hee/Jo Hyun-jae amongst others who have faded after being popular for a bit in the 2000s. Granted that was before SNS/Streaming, so stars now can on their basis on their SNS following can get roles if they’ve an international backing.

As for KSH, he’s said he’s in it for the acting and in 2015 said, he doesn’t think of being a star, even if he may became a star one day. Of course, Start Up has accelerated his rise and his name into another level. A 2nd ML from a show that did average ratings wise won big, and I’m so happy to see a hard working talented actor who debuted later in tv get his big due. If he didn’t get his due now, it might be too late by then. He’s at a point in his career where he can’t play the college youth roles but not older father roles either.

It’s a weird/awkward position since his contemporaries are a few yrs older than him or same age, but have been in the business for ages. Lee Seung Gi is one yr younger than him, and Ju Ji Hoon is 4 yrs older than him as is Son Ye JIn. Woah!! So he’s in an awkward position imo due to his later start, I just hope that after he does 1 or 2 more romance centric shows to boost his standing in the industry that he tries out films, and explores more interesting/diverse roles there.

Ah yes, that is also true! K-netizens can be so mean, its awful. Like speaking ill of Kim Go Eun/Park So Dam/Han Ye Ri’s looks b/c they’ve monoloids rme. I hope he has his agency manage his SNS accounts going forward, I think he does his own Insta. K-entertainment is a fickle industry, Kim Rae Won or Kim Ah Joong both are name/veteran actors and yet they seldom work which is hmm. Even Moon Geun Young (I know/health scare) but she won a Daesang early on, and even then, I feel like she fell off the map :/ Sorry for the long reply, I’m just grateful to have open minded/frank talks about an actor’s career/trajectory in a space where we won’t get lambasted online for them lol.

I just want to agree with your wish that he’s not type-casted, however, I’m also quite cynical and fear he’ll start being offered a lot of mainstream dramas. This is why in some ways I like my faves to be on the down low. I’m incredibly happy for KSH’s success but I’m wary of the possibilities that come with it.

That is why I’m glad he choose to go back to his root and decide on theater play as his project after SU. But at the same time, he is all over the place doing interviews, cf filming and even MCing. As a fan, I happy that we get so many new contents from him. I actually having trouble catching up to all his interviews tbh. But I do worry a bit since it seems like they just accept a lot of offers that coming to him. I wonder what Salt’s plan regarding his future tbh.
And I do think the pressure is on him and his agency to pick the next project that can either sustain his popularity or push him higher. After SU, he in awkward position, too famous to be 2nd lead but not famous enough to be a lead that will attract ratings and funding. The industry cant look at his past projects since he just exploded during SU.
But I do hope they take their time and choose wisely.

tl:dr i’m excited about KSH future endeavours
