After last week’s “can you like?” “I already do,” this week’s episodes feel a bit too slow.
A week’s worth of episodes and we haven’t advanced on said affection, but we’ve lingered to zoom in on a petty fight.

I still liked the episodes. Tonally, the show is offbeat enough that it doesn’t feel like we’re being sidetracked too much, and I actually really liked that we focused on (1) the inner lives of our characters like our otp’s reasons for putting up walls, why they fought, Seon-gyeom’s loneliness, and (2) other relationships: Seon-gyeom & his mom, the trackfield hoobaes, Seon-gyeom & Yeonghwa, the coach…
And while I enjoy their banter, I’m still unsure about what they’re doing with Dan-ah and Yeonghwa. Given the power imbalance between them, I’m not really rooting for them as a potential couple (which is what it seems the show is pushing for).

I hope there won’t be too many times of heart-fluttering endings and hand-holdings that lead to *nowhere* (gives me flashbacks to CLOY’s grossly misplaced chastity 😬) & that the narrative picks up some speed next week!
The last scene of tonight’s episode was very lovely though. Again Im Siwan and those eyes of his! 🥺
And for a guy who’s kind of emotionally immature, Seongyeom sure does have a sweet tongue!

Seon-gyeom’s eyes in this scene killed me 🥺

I felt like Mi-joo has been trying to match Seon-gyeom’s speed since the beginning so now it’s his turn to match hers. It was hard for her to figure out why she was mad and how to work it out but in the end, he’s the one who too the initiative and told her that she can rely on him.

I found this week’s episodes to be more focused on other things besides the leads and I really didn’t mind. It was nice to have perspective from other characters as well.

Yes I agree that SG is the one who needs to step up here! He’s so deadpan and logical, I’m curious to see how he will handle his feelings. From Mijoo’s perspective, I understand why she would find him confusing and frustrating, bc he expresses his feelings in weird ways. But we’ve seen his own frustration at her not being able to decipher that he does like her… I think eventually that frustration will lead him to confess it.

Yeah, I agree, not much movement but some good character stuff.

I see Dan-ah and Young-hwa as a transitory relationship but not sure what the writer intends.

Seon-gyeom is emotionally immature but nothing if not logical. Those words were swoony but actually very logical lol.

I thought the eps were nice, not great. I was a little annoyed with the candy trope being overdone in the end of ep8. I could have done with less of that.

I actually really liked ep 7 but found ep 8 a tad bit slow but I did’nt mind it. What I did’nt get was how mijoo can be angry when someone is following you with those sad puppy eyes. SK was like a cute duckling(ala misaeng)
