m curious.. when bands disband, how many manage to survive. Remember this other girl who was hired in running man.. And she came from a decent group (NaNa’s ?) and how tough it was for them. With GOT7 too, I get the actor guy will be fine .. Not sure about the guy returning to LA.. making indv music without label, that must be hard

I think most fail to survive tbh.

which is so scary.. most idols . their career kinda starts down the slope in late 20s.. and i believe most do not have sound academic background to easily get absorbed in usual job market

I can’t even imagine what they do to survive

I think most have some kind of degree. But yeah, it seems risky and hard. Lots try to make a career through some combination of music-making, acting, and modelling, but it doesn’t seem like a particularly stable or lucrative career and I’m guessing most aren’t even this lucky. I think what often happens is that the female idols who aren’t able to continue as celebrities end up getting married, while male idols may end up having to try and break into the job market to become ordinary office workers, etc.

I think it wouldn’t be as much of a problem if they were here in the West, in countries like Canada, the UK, or America. It’s reasonably common here for people to go back to school and to change careers. It’s not ideal, obviously, but it’s common enough for it not to be all that odd and people are usually able to create good careers for themselves (although it goes without saying that some options are usually off the table — you’re not going to break into investment banking in your thirties, for instance). But in SK, my understanding is that it’s much more of a do-or-die society. If you fail, it can be very hard to pick yourself back up. This manifests in other places as well, like in the fate of failed entrepreneurs and start-up founders. People start planning for success early on, there are usually established pathways to get into established careers, and people who fall be the wayside have a hard time getting back on track.

Actually they didn’t disband, they will need to change their GOT7 logo, because it’s owner is JYP. I wished so much back in October that they won’t resign with JYPE and I’m glad they didn’t. They’ll do great and I hope that they’ll find some agancy to take are of their group activities once they’ll get their new album out although JYPE could block them out of SK’s media.

Jackson created his Team Wang label in 2017 to be free of JYP although he had to pay JYPE royalties from his sales because he was their “creation” and I think the contract he signed told him to do so although he couldn’t be promoted as a soloist in SK. He brought lots of money to JYPE that’s why I don’t understand why they were mistreated.

I’m not worried for other members as well because there is lot of going on about them. Maybe Mark will have more difficult restart, maybe not. Bambam will probably start to produce some movies or music videos as he has shown his good eye many times in producing his videos from tours of GOT7.

We will see but I wish them well!
