I’ve finished Six Flying Dragons!!!
I guess now I have to go with Tree with deep roots 🧐

    So SFD first and then TWDR. Got it, they have been on my watch list forever.

      Well that’s chronologically correct, but TWDR was released before SFD, so no specific order to watch.

    @Eazal,
    I will probably never get to SFD.
    Join the party. I started TREE WITH DEEP ROOTS (Viki-US) last month and I am up to episode 11. I have been taking it a little slow and reading HeadsNo2’s excellent recaps as I go along.
    The source material is a novel so doing side research on history has not been an issue for me. Great cast and I was very impressed by Song Joong-k’s performance as young King Sejong in the early episodes.

    Well done! I have to find somewhere new to watch it (it’s not on Netflix here now or on Viki in my region – I may just have to embrace the power of a VPN)

      It’s on YouTube, on SBS World. I think there’s almost 20 different subtitles including English.

      It’s titled: Roots of the Throne

      I hope you can finish soon. The middle episodes almost lost me, but the last 15 episodes I binge watched in 3 days, now I kind of miss it…

        I’ll have to try to get myself back into one episode to get past the heavy philosophy.

    I’m also watching 6FD, I’m still halfway through. I started watching it again after seeing you post about it. Alter 16 ep my brain just decided it was time to stop, like this is supposed to end now.

    I tried TWDR earlier last year & couldn’t get into it. (I’m not a sageuk person) But I loved 6FD. Hopefully you’ll also love TWDR. Have fun watching!

      I think that from episode 22 more or less to 36 you just have to force yourself to watch. It is exhausting, all the discussions, all the politics and philosophy… it drained my brain.
      And Viki subs are really bad in this one (I ofter had to change the Spanish subs to English and even so I knew they were wrong), but I really liked it. Although I don’t think I’ll ever rewatch: too exhausting, too long, too much.
      I’m not a sageuk person either, so I can’t believe I finished this specially considering I don’t like long dramas. TWDR is only 24 episodes. Piece of cake!

        I started ep 30 today, it’s good to know it gets easier. On one hand I want to skip all their talks, on the other hand I’m scared I won’t understand anything…
        The YT subs are OK thankfully. Yeah same I don’t rewatch anything actually, just the scenes that I like an embarrassing amount of time until I know them by heart
