Ok I am so tired about hearing about SLS all the time as it always involves male leads. I want to know which female characters you all had SLS for that is wanting her to end up with the main lead.
Not that I can recall, but I read comments on people who watched Itaewon Class.
In my case I think it’s mainly because female characters are much worse written than male characters (imo).
Yes this. I can’t recall any memorable SFL pinning after the ML either even though I liked Seo Ji Hye’s character in Jealousy Incarnate.
This is also the reason why SML become ML comparatively easily while SFL’s are usually stuck in that role for a long time. Just look at KSH, everyone loved his character and now HE is hitting it big because of that character and his portrayal. Tge same cannot be said for Kang Hanna. SFL are usually given limited, bitch and cold characters that the audience is likely to hate than like, unless they have a love story of their own.
She’s also in Designated Survivor: 60 days, and again her character is underused.
I can also recommend her in Familiar Wife, which is a lovely drama. She plays SFL.
This is exactly why SFL are hard to root for, they’re always written as the bad one. Or if we’re lucky enough to get a great one, they’re so awesome we don’t even care whether they end up with ML or not.
The SL ladies are usually too amazing for the MLs. 😉
But to answer your question, Chuno! I really would have liked Seol Hwa to end up with Daegil. His whole star crossed lover plot with the main girl was tiring imo. Like get over her! Seol Hwa was a breath of fresh air and my favorite character from the drama. To this day I’m still salty he never acknowledged her. Pfft.
K2 should’ve been a noona romance. Ji Changwook should’ve ended with Song Yoonah instead!!!! They had KU-RAY-ZY chemistry.
But they give us that bland ass vanilla “romance” instead.
I rarely feel SLS even for male characters but yeah I think I’ve never felt it for the females in the dramas I’ve watched so far. There were some nice SFLs but still didn’t really feel it.

Kang Hanna could have been such a wonderful SFL, but was so underused.

As far as I am concerned she was way more wonderful than the SML 😅

She could have been the best of all four leads. She was indeed better than FL.

I dropped Gunman in Joseon because I didn’t like the main couple and would have loved for the second female lead to end up with the male lead.
Another one was Warrior Baek Dong-soo. The love interest of the male leads was so boring and useless and I hated that she ended up with the male lead.
