Lovestruck: After today’s episode, I’m convinced the writer(s) just wants us to believe Eun Oh is crazy. If that’s the case I wish they’d say so and we’d all work from there.
I felt it was more what she perceived to be a “free spirit” than that chick’s actual personality. She did what a lot of people do, became someone else while on vacation. Meeting Jae Won and actually falling in love threw a monkey wrench in her plans. She used the vacation from herself to find who she really wanted to be.
I think it’s ingenious. If only we all could shed hurt and trauma to emerge as a freer more expressive version of ourselves instead of carrying that emotional baggage
into the next phase of our life.
I appreciate your perspective. I think where it went from appreciation to “appropriation”* was the extent of her conversion. She adopted the woman’s personality, hair, and even her exact tattoos. For me, that was more than a carefree attitude but I totally get where you are coming from and see it as valid.
I can see how it could/did transition to Single White Female status. As @ndlessjoie brought up everything but the name use was ok. Once she started to use the name it went from appreciation to crazy…ish. She’s not unhinged, she was just spiraling.
I didn’t see it that way at all. She saw someone who wasn’t anxious or trying to be like everyone else then tried that idea out when her life took several very unexpected turns. Borrowing the person’s name gave her the freedom to do it (and was wrong).
I’m wondering how she was able to get a job using an alias, unless she actually used her own name and asked the business owner’s to use her alias?
I gathered she was familiar with the restaurant couple, like maybe she knew them before? There’s different levels of comfortability. I agree with @ndlessjoie and @thatstp that there’s nothing wrong with adopting a carefree attitude. We go on vacations to relax and let go of our normal inhibitions. For me, Eun Oh went too far and deeply hurt someone. These differences in opinions are great.

What about this episode made you think that more than the others?

Not sure if you’re joking but if so that’s awesome. Spoiler: It’s the fact Eun Oh low-brow tried to assume someone else’s identity/personality.

It made sense to me too, except for borrowing the name.

It’s clear to me that she’s a very unstable person from episode one.

Yeah, when things started to get serious with Jae Won she should have told him the truth.
