How many of you treat yourself with gifts? What do you guys think is a good gift to one self? I’m a person with no interests and likes nothing specifically lol so this is pretty confusing. Plus, I think I’ll end up liking things only when they’re new so why bother 🤷🏻♀️
Ah I wish I was into books. Have never been a big fan of reading, though I would read some self help books sometimes. But books are such a good gift to avid readers plus they always love it.
I don’t buy a lot of gifts for myself but I do buy GOT7 albums when they come out, kpop concert tickets, and once I bought a hoodie that GOT7 JB designed (which I actually kinda regret because I realized I don’t like hoodies that much 🤦♀️)
If you don’t have any interests like that, you could treat yourself to a fancy meal or a nice dessert, buy a new outfit, or buy materials and learn how to crochet/knit/embroider/sew/quilt (it could be a way to treat yourself and also develop a new interest at the same time).
This reminds me, I hope you’re doing well with GOT7’s disbanding.
Also that’s a great advice. I actually do know how to do cross stitch, so this can help develop and polish a hobby. I don’t know why I’m so stingy when it comes to spending on food and clothes etc. I think clothes, accessories etc lose the charm once you have your hands on them. When I think about spending on food, I think if I have to spend on anything, why should it not be sth that lasts 🤦🏻♀️ that’s pretty contradictory.
It did hit me pretty hard at first but then I realized GOT7 haven’t actually disbanded. They’ve left JYPE but they still have the rights to everything and have promised they will be back as a group 💚
I’m glad the advice helped 😊 I’m the same way. It’s hard for me to justify buying things unless it’s something I really want.
This reminded me that I used to LOVE stickers when I was a kid. We should keep our interests alive. I was a big collector. I’m into skincare, tea and chocolates as well but I don’t know if I see them as self care.
I am terrible at gifts to myself (from me or when other people ask what I want) so I tend to go for something I need anyway but a nicer version than I would usually get/pay for the premium version to not get ads.
I did get myself a subscription box for my birthday last year (like the beanie box but different because that does not ship here) which was fun for a while but got cancelled when the novelty wore off.
Oh I can feel you. I think gifts to self should be more than a need. The one time you can slip and get what you want. My issues is just that I regret it later. In that case your take is pretty apt, you may need sth anyway so why not get a step ahead to reward yourself and at the same time, avoid any regret.
I do. I treat myself even when it isn’t my birthday 😂 Try buying a perfume for yourself, or a pillow! Something you can use for a long time and may serve as a reminder to yourself that you love yourself ❤️
Thank you Purple 💕
I like both your suggestions and the significance behind them. And it’s really good that you treat yourself often. It does lift one’s spirits.
I don’t treat myself with gifts , neither on my birthday or for Christmas.
If I need something and if it’s a bit pricey (but being thrifty it’s never that pricey ^^’) , I’ll buy it thinking “oh let’s consider this as my birthday gift to myself” when birthday is months away x).
That’s the case when I find a jigsaw puzzle with a picture I really like, I buy maybe one (two max.) per year so I see it as a gift to myself.
The other case from last year : library card so cost-efficient compared to a few books’ price 🙂
Yup I can relate to both of you. The only exception being, I may want to treat myself but don’t eventually. This once in a while gift to self is a good idea.

I do. In fact I’m very patiently waiting for my last treat.
UPS parcel is somewhere on route with some pretty Mandalorian sneakers for a happy beanie.

Books. Rather, eBooks now.

E-reader + library card can add up to a very affordable “gift that keeps on giving”. Depending on your local library system, of course.

I’ve been listening to library audiobooks while I do mind numbing chores.

I love stickers! Sometimes a new skincare product makes me really happy. Or even a new box of tea or chocolates!

Same! I’m not much of a shopper but if there’s something i fancy that’s a bit expensive i just think of it as treating myself.

Yes give it a try sometimes! It’s fine to think about it first but you’ve worked hard so it’s nice to have a ‘reward’ once a while.
