Beverley Cleary passed away yesterday. She was 104. She was one of my first favorite authors. In the announcement for her passing they said, “no cause of death was given”. Like…dude. She was 104. I think THAT was the cause of death!
I loved her books as a kid. 104 is a pretty good innings!
What?! Beverly Cleary was my favorite growing up. I’ll never forget that the first time I cried reading a book was a Ramona book. RIP. What a legend.
She was so important to me as a young reader. Her characters were completely messy and relatable and I loved them.
And yeah, cause of death, “Done with this now. Thank you!”
Oh, man. Her books were such a big part of my childhood. I read all of them! I should read them again.
I’m sorry to hear of her passing.
