if ANY of these allegations are true, then SYJ is done. I’m disgusted by her actions and genuinely horrified that I liked her for so long. I rooted for her success since the days of Save Me and feel terrible for supporting an abuser in any way shape or form.
While this in no way justifies KJH’s actions on the set of Time, I am frustrated with many people on twitter (shocking, I know) who don’t seem to view this situation with any sort of nuance. Unfortunately, I happen to know firsthand how people in abusive relationships often act in ways that are detrimental, or even abusive, to the people around them. As such, a lot of the things he’s been accused of are not surprising to me at all. Calling KJH a “coward” or a “pushover” seems incredibly tone deaf to me given the obviously precarious situation he was in. I can only hope that he escaped from such a toxic relationship and that he never has to deal with SYJ or anyone like her again.
If it all is true, it DOES justify KJH’s actions on set.
Had he been an abused woman, everybody would be supporting her. There’s no difference just because he’s a man.
