this should be the last of it for seattle… supposed to cool down to 69°F by 4 or 5 a.m. if we don’t melt first…

My weather app has had more suspense and twists lately than a kdrama.
30 degrees hotter in Seattle for most of the day than where I live in the suburbs of Los Angeles.
About 10 degrees hotter than near Tucson Arizona where someone I know lives.
    That’s just WRONG!

seriously!!! we’re like rain dwellers that complain it doesn’t get hot in summer until august… i think we’ll have to stop complaining… only about 30% of the households in seattle have A/C, cuz we usually get one week of over 85-90° each summer.

kinda weird not seeing people out walking their dogs or kids on bikes/trikes… (i think there are still more dogs than kids in seattle).

I feel so bad for you guys. I lived in Minneapolis where a/c is regarded as unnecessary and those 90+ days were truly hell. I hope you cool off soon and send the heat . . . anywhere but here.

oh, i don’t envy you midwesterners — my sister lived in chicago and mequon areas, talk about severe summer heat/humidity and subzero snowfalls in winter… it was so cold one thanksgiving season that we couldn’t go into downtown chicago to go shopping… 0° plus -11° windchill factor.

😁 I grew up in Chicago. One Christmas was so cold that when we put our groceries in the car trunk, by the time we got home the cells of the lettuce had literally exploded into green mush. Then again, another Christmas was so beautiful that people were sailing on the Lake. Weather!

You must be alive to keep your basil alive! 🌱

My library’s has two chillers but only one is currently functional. Yesterday was difficult because the building was hot and humid. Beanies, stay cool and as hydrated as possible!

and today it felt “refreshing” to go outside in the afternoon to feel 84°F with a breeze! tonight, we got even more relief!!! a wonderful onshore wind that cooled everything west of the cascade mountain range down — it’s a lovely 63°F right now at 2 am… i had every window and door open to blow out the residual heat!
