What’s going on in dramaland recently?? Within just a few days, we’ve had Park Hye-eun, Park Sung-hoon, and now, Kim Young-dae step down from relatively high-profile leading roles (especially the first and last examples). There’s probably a reasonable explanation for all this and I just come off like a crazy conspiracy theorist. However, even as a fan of kdramas for almost a decade now, seeing so many actors leave projects in such a short time period is a bit unprecedented. Just hoping that nothing shady is going on (more than the usual industry shadiness, I mean).
School 2021 has issues with the casting since the beginning, School 2020. They hired Ahn Seo Hyun but the production changed and they said her father was demanding too much… But it looked like they wanted Kim Sae Ron. They gave up School 2020 but decided to come with School 2021. They kept Kim Yo Han for the male lead, found a new FL and Kim Young-Dae. I don’t think Kim Young-Dae is loosing by leaving this production. Kim Yo Han is not really a good actor and the production doesn’t seem to know what they’re doing.
I was just saying the same thing on Discord! So weird. It probably is just a coincidence but 3 leads leaving their projects within a week of each other is just so odd.
I would run, not walk, from that one. One of those people can’t act and it will take many years for me to thing of watching that person in a drama again.
Is it Joy? I love Red Velvet’s music with my whole heart and Joy’s voice is very unique and beautiful. I’ll admit, however, that I don’t find her to be a good actress.
Better to run when you see that the plot after episode 4 sucks as they film first 6 episodes before airing. I think many would have done for if an exclusive contract wasn’t involved.
The song “The Naughty Lady of Shady Lane” comes to mind. Or as my Dad often said, there’s something rotten in Denmark! There definitely is a lot of stepping down going on. I wonder who they will get to step up in their place?

Only One Person with Ahn Eun-jin and Red Velvet’s Joy. Kim Kyung-nam is said to replace him.
