“Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo” (2016-2017) [10/10]

I really can’t rave about this show enough. It’s heartwarming and so full of life. The heroine is one of my all time favorite characters. This show made me laugh hysterically so many times, yet delved into some deep, relatable struggles. It is the most pure, feel-good, coming-of-age story I’ve ever watched. The acting was superb, whilst the subject was so unique and exciting. I actually feel honored having been able to watch and be a fan of this show. I love at the end of it the message was really to embrace your youth… despite the clumsiness, mistakes, and fear of the unknown… because that really is what makes life beautiful. The friends to lovers storyline was executed flawlessly in my opinion. I cannot rave about this show enough. This definitely makes my top 5 favorite KDramas ever.

Rewatching it now! The sound effects are a scream, the therapist is a legend, and I love the hilarious teasing and friends to lovers storyline… love love love!
One of my favourites! A small story packed with so much emotion, growth, and a super omg-cute-healthy-pretty OTP. I also listened to the show’s bgm for months 🥰🥰
I love this show so much. The way it covered metal health before it gained the importance that it had today, the way it looked at eating disorders amongst female athletes and how a female athletes balance feminity and competitiveness, it became my favourite.
