Disappointed by Hellbound. Such potential wasted, and I hold no hope that a S2 will fix what seems broken to me.🙁 Some folks seem to adore it, but I sadly do not.
I tend to agree with this notion because they already have fallen into that with other non K fare. I think Netflix, like many production companies, also can’t help but be caught up in the “what’s hot now” trends, and assume they can ride them regardless of actual quality. Sure, sometimes they catch the wave right on time, but other times it just winds up being “could-have-been”, like so many not-Netflix Kdramas.
One of the reasons I first got caught up with Kdramas was because American TV was starting to seem the same to me–tons of procedurals in particular. I loathe them with the fire of a thousand suns. Now, as I’ve caught up on many older Kdramas when I could while watching current ones, I can count on one hand how many Kdramas I’ve managed to watch in their entirety that also picked up that same tired procedural march.

I’m starting to wonder, if Netflix series are turning into typical Kdramas. The recent ones are all so-so.
