🤐*Patiently waits for recap for Bulgasal to share a possibly amusing moment that would also reveal something to those that hadn’t watched it yet–hence holding back.*

Since you’ve seen it, I just wanted to confirm some things…
We saw that elder sister is reincarnated bulgasal lady, right? (Cause I thought she’ll be the FL but she’s probably not, her younger sister is) And our hero bulgasal was behind her only… But we don’t know yet who killed ladybulgsl, As we didn’t saw the face! So whoever killed her now has hero bulgasal’s soul, correct??
I couldn’t understand the twin concept either, why her twin sister can feel monsters, and if she’s really her twin then why she wasn’t refering her family as her own, she said once “your fam will die’!
I guess this all twin thing is just to make the hero misunderstand her as the lady bulgasal, which she is not!

I’ll give you my interpretation. I think because Bulgasal lady reincarnated as twins, one inherited the memories and the other Hwal’s soul. The elder twin had the scar and remembered all of her past lives, which is why I assume she didn’t refer to the family as her own. I imagine if you remember being a bulgasal and 600 years of reincarnations, you don’t get attached. It seemed the surviving twin could feel monsters and monsters were chasing her because she had the soul. That’s why her sisiter was intent on protecting her. So the person who killed the elder twin (and I can guess based on the face shape lol) doesn’t have the soul, I don’t believe.

“monsters were chasing her because she had the soul.”
Oh this make sense, but I remembered her elder sister saying “You look like me, that’s why monsters might recognise you” so I never thought about other possibilities!
Wait a minute, when they’re twins, why she kept saying her unnie and kept referring her as my elder sister!?!?! I’m seriously missing something here! 😶

The twin born first would be referred to as elder sister.

The fact that they outright say that monsters can somehow get reborn/reincarnated despite not having a soul (if the subs are right) mean this is really anyone’s game to get at our now monster’s soul.

I’m pretty much as confused as everyone with this show.

Two men are chasing her. 1 is our ML and no. 2, is someone we have not seen yet, only heard about, and who I suspect killed her.
I don’t understand the twins yet.
It’s all a bit puzzling, and this from someone who enjoys puzzles.
It’s also unrelentingly gritty and bloody. People with blood-stained clothes and hands, blood on the walls… Too much.

Strangely, the gore has not bothered me yet with this show. And there are other shows of late where it less did. Maybe I was too distracted trying to understand the rules of this particular universe? 🤔

As others have posted here and elsewhere, the split soul/memories/experiences thing seems to be in play. I am not a reincarnation, soul stealing, or folklore expert by any means–so I have nothing really worth sharing from any sort of knowledge other than past kdramas that touch on this.

They also made a huge deal of showing the soul transfer the first time…so I sort of assumed since we didn’t “see” such with the one twin that it wasn’t transferred. But I also wondered if what/whomever killed them might not have the ability/knowledge too.

In Arang and the Magistrate, a bunch of souls got trapped in one character’s body in a cave which sort of made the “owner” of said body a bit insane. I’m trying to recall now what that particular sort of possession/creature (?) was named by the Reaper who came for them. I’ll try to see if I can make time to rewatch that ep. because maybe it will be relevant or something if that’s a typical Korean folklore thing.

I hope there will be recaps because I have things to discuss, but they haven’t added it to the Currently Recapping. Bulgasal is not even in the Primetime Shows list which is weird.

This is what I’ve been saying since last week.
It’s a tvn drama and it’s not in the list, how weird!

I’ve been noticing a lot of shows have not made the list or been recapped of late. Don’t know if it’s a staff shortage issue, the holidays being busy time or what.🤷

Too bad we’ll never know the real reason why.
I know it’s not easy to recap shows but they’re just so little these days.
Even if it’s open thread, we’ll take it!

Ok…the possibly amusing thing. While watching the first ep, I casually said to my SO, “It seems the era of hot tortured/angsty monsters is over. Now it’s maybe the era of hot tortured/angsty monster hunters?”

Then later when *that scene* happened to blow away my theory, I was like…”Welp, meybbe not.” 😅
