🤚🏿I think I will be stoned if I mention some dramas.
I have learnt to chalk it up to difference in preference because I get perpexlexed why someone doesn’t like what I like too 🤷🏿‍♀️

Still, say it aloud! I would love to hear them.

Hello Me was annoying in most parts.
Beyond Evil; I get it, I try to get it, but at the end, it doesn’t reel me in.
Our Beloved Summer; still duking it out one episode at a time. Hope I reach the finish line.
Dali and the Cocky Prince; ff button and I became best friends.
The King’s Affection was watched because of my love for the leads.
…phew, I said it. These are 2021 dramas that almost went to the discard pile after the first few episodes but I didn’t make it.

My 2021 drama experience was lackluster. I discarded lots of dramas last year, even the beloved ones like Move to Heaven.
In fact, I find myself steering clear of rom coms, melo dramas, or makjangs.
Mental health was a priority to me.

Last year was quite terrible for dramaland. I dropped all 5 of those after the first eps, Dali lasted untill 11 but it was bad. I did like Move to Heaven but I totally understand those who didn’t because it could be manipulative sometimes.

@zitless agree with you on beyond evil and our beloved summer. I did like OBS in the first half and only when it started going in circles with no communication between the leads and the unveiling of ung’s secrets, I lost all goodwill that I had towards it.

Also very very unpopular opinion, I dropped I’m not a robot and didn’t bother going back. Now I should probably hide from the legion of beanies who loved it to death🙈

*high five* @superwhopotterlock even I dropped I’m not a robot and didn’t bother going back!!! OBS I never watched, but yeah I liked/enjoyed beyond evil and I still respect your guys view on it!

@unniunni me too! I know that beyond evil was objectively a good drama but I didn’t love it. Also thank god I’m not the only one who dropped the other one!

A dozen hands here. I’ve probably watched at least that, always thinking that drama will become as good as people said. Some of them were so lame. It still makes me kind of angry to be honest kkk.

Do we just have to raise hands or also mention them, hm?

😅Honestly, given I was also worried about being publicly stoned if I mentioned certain beloved drama names, that’s why I asked for the show of hands alone.

This is still DB, people don’t care much if you hate their beloved dramas. Besides it’s the fanwall you can say whatever you like about your own ideas.

One thing I especially like about this site is how willing many of us are to give a show a first/second shot because other beanies make compelling arguments for such.

That said, when I initially started writing this thread, my brain was hesitant–recalling a tense time (many, many moons ago) where an obvious divide arose over a show and some posts got quite a bit…let’s just say unconstructively terse. Going on a few years now I have become more anxious about being part of/sparking conflict, but at the same time I still retain my genuine curiosity about things that can be conflicting. So I guess curiosity won in this case and so I made the post, if that makes sense? 🤔

Yes, that can happen, usually in the recaps of popular ongoing dramas. The most common was for someone to complain about this or that and someone else decides they should just stop posting or quit the drama. Maybe even calling them haters or trolls. One time some even said people should not criticize characters too much because they meant something for them, there is also that argument of “drama crew working so hard”. It’s all a bit ridiculous. The nicest part of DB was that usually others would come along and defend people who just wanted to rant and criticize freely, as long as it’s not personal, everybody should feel free to say anything.

Name all the dramas if u want, i doubt anyone would bother to stone anyone. There’s loads of dramas loved here that I didn’t bother to watch simply cos it wasn’t my cup of tea. But there were also some that i picked up solely from beanies’ hype and i loved them: My Unfamiliar Family, Into the Ring, Run On.

The only show I’ve stuck with until the end despite my lackluster interest in it was Run On. I never understood the hype, and I actually questioned why. The strangest thing is that after a year, I instantly wanted to rewatch it and here I’m rewatching it with a happy heart. I think it’s all about timing: if a drama is chosen based on Beans’ hype AND your mood needs, it’s unlikely to fail you.

In my case, it’s more the opposite: I have the tendency to love dramas nobody cares about 🤣

That happens to me a lot too. So I find myself alone in love.
