Two weeks ago, while I was stuck on a highway on my way home, and positively losing my my mind from boredom, I decided to start a random drama. Not knowing why Prison Playbook appeared then and there, and while I heard lots of good things about it, I never really thought about watching it.

After initial awkwardness (watching the scene when Je-hyuk had to… bend over on the bus full of people who could look over my shoulder any time was a true battle for my introverted self), I was warming up slowly. Up from ep. 4 I was watching from home, thank heavens for that, and I was a goner. It was so much fun. And had so much heart. Most of all I loved seeing all the familiar faces!

In conclusion, I’m super happy that this unfortunate ride home allowed me to give this gem a shot. Prison Playbook is such a well-written, well-acted, and overall amazing drama! It had such a way of making feel for all the characters, to root for them, and feel pain alongside them. Even though the episodes were criminally long, they were over before I could notice, all thanks to bickery delivery of the inmates (and the guards :)) and fast-paced plot.

Glad you found this show compelling. It’s one of my favorites as well. Top 20 for sure.
