After recently finishing Prison Playbook I got reminded how much I loooove Jung Hae-in, and I felt the urge to watch a drama with him. I’m not to keen on watching Snowdrop because the heavy social media coverage spoiled most of it, nor do I want to watch Pretty Noona. My question is: A Piece of Your Mind or One Spring Night? Maybe some other suggestions?

(I gotta say, I am leaning a little bit more towards OSN, since it popped into my head once I saw Han Ji-min in Our Blues. Should I treat it as a sign from Drama Gods?)

Haven’t watched One spring night, but I totally loved A piece of your mind! 🥺
It has a very mellow vibe, it might not be for everyone, but I found it so soothing personally.

It’s not my case, but some people found the first 2 episode a little confusing, so you might want to keep that in mind if watching. ^^

    It depends about your mood?

A Piece of Your Mind is about mourning. The pace is pretty slow and you need to wait for the story to settle. The first 2 episodes can be a little bit weird.

One Spring Night is more about romance between adults with their life baggages.

    I loved both of them!

A Piece of Your Mind without a doubt!
    Then One Spring Night.
Then the movie Tune in for Love.

Haha yes! Tbh i found OSN more tiring than APOYM because of the complex relationships in it. And I didn’t watch Snowdrop or Noona either, but DP is also great.

I can only agree with parkchuna, but please keep in mind what kurama said… yes… first two episodes of APOYM can make you wonder wtf? But it will totally worth it. Promised.

Or, instead of romance, you could try D.P. if you have a high threshold for violence.

As mentioned, all Jung Hae-in recomendations are appreciated! I’ll add D.P. then as well.

Honestly, I’d highly recommend either, depending on your mood. Both of these dramas are amongst my personal favourites so I can’t imagine choosing one or the other.

A Piece of Your Mind is slow and surreal. A beautiful meditation on the complexities of grief and mourning. It won’t be for everyone, but if it does resonate with you, then it’s not a show you’re likely to forget anytime soon. I’m still bitter it got cut down to 12 episodes due to low ratings. It deserved better.

One Spring Night is more…accessible. Which is not the way I ever thought I could describe an Ahn Pan-seok show. It’s still an incredible show with great characters and performances. I actually rewatch certain episodes quite often. It’s a comfort show for me. Jung Hae-in and Han Ji-min are one of my favourite drama OTPs.

I’d also recommend D.P.. It’s violent and uncomfortable, and definitely not something to just throw on in the background. However, it is such a brilliant show that it’d be a travesty if I didn’t even suggest it.

So, yeah, Jung Hae-in is a great actor and picks great dramas (minus Snowdrop).

I’ve only watched APOYM, and I loved it a lot. While it is definitely a drama about grief and healing, like others described, it’s also a very warm drama. When people describe something about being about grief I tend to imagine a show as being very grim and sad, and while the show does tug at your heartstrings, it didn’t feel like that to me. It’s a warm, healing show and while it did make me cry it also made me smile through my tears.

All of the above is the case despite what the first two episodes might fool you into believing. It is NOT an angsty melodrama!
